Dr. McRitchie has been very kind and helpful. I have had surgery and was having some difficulties. Dr McRitchie went above and beyond never making me wait and being in further pain. The receptionist is very kind, understanding and prompt to respond.

This doctor is rude no bedside manner. She actually had no answers to my questions other then telling me my situation is worse then thought, in a very rude matter of fact way. She has not run any further tests and when I asked her what makes her say that, her response was it happens.

She was the icu responsible doctor for my father's critical case and her way was too rude.. I go the morning rounds and when I ask her any question she would tell me she would come back to me but out of 5 days I only talked to her once where she told me if I have a half million dollars I can take my father to his home country with a special plane as he is a visitor and not covered by insurance!!! She knew I am in my last weeks of pregnancy and she didn't care to be giving me this "joke" as she said because he may stay in the hospital for months.. the hospital suddenly decided to move my father to another hospital and when my husband asked to meet her she didn't approve and talked over the phone and said we don't have an option and that she wouldn't talk more about it... she is lacking compassion and knowledge and dealing with arrogance

Not a knowledgeable doctor and does not care to help you with your issue or solve it after she refuses to do anything.

As far as physicians ago, I found Dr. McRitchie to be rude and unsympathetic. As a future physician myself, one of things that we are taught in medical school is that patient care is of utmost importance, and simple questions such as "How are you feeling?" or "Do you have any questions?" can make a world of difference for the patient and their families. As the husband of someone with breast disease, and the holder of a medical degree, I expected much more from Dr. McRitchie in terms of empathy, and professionalism. Maybe, it was the fact I am the holder of a medical degree from a different country, or maybe it was my ethnic background, or maybe it was because I am a man, whatever the reason, she clearly excluded me from the whole process of my wife's ordeal. This was very disheartening. For example, on the day of my wife’s surgery, the waiting room was filled with the loved ones of patients undergoing surgery that day. After each surgery was finished, the surgeon (or resident), would call the family to the door and update them as to how the surgery went (i.e. your husbands doing fine, there were no complications, etc…). I waited for 5 hours and watched everyone get updated about their loved ones, but where was Dr. McRitchie? Was I updated about my wife status? No. I actually had to get up and go into the PACU myself and ask one fo the nurses if everything is ok. When we followed up with her 2-weeks later, she came into the room and greeted my wife, and did not greet me, or even look at me the whole time that I was in the office, and brushed off my questions. Maybe this was a form of racism, sexism, or prejudice, I don’t know, but it was clear that I was being excluded from the whole process. Dr. McRitchie should realize that it is not only the patient involved, wether it be your mother, sister, wife, or daughter, with the breast diagnosis, but also the family of the patient involved, that also has to deal with the devastation of receiving a breast disease diagnosis. And I must say that I was very disappointed in her interaction with us. Bottom line, If you are male, and like to ask questions about whats going on with your wife (even the most basic ones), then please find yourself another surgeon, who will take the time to really care about your concerns, and answer your questions, and who does not show prejudice against men. Dr. McRitchie is not a good physician, and there is no other way that I can put it.

Dr. McRitchie is an awesome doctor as well as an awesome human being. She saw me in person all through Covid whereas I didn't see my oncologist once during that time. Dr. McRitchie is kind, compassionate, and takes the time to listen. She is the best doctor one could wish for. Her assistant, Aletta, is also a very kind and compassionate person.

I can't thank Dr. McRitchie enough for what she's done for me. Ten weeks ago she performed my double mastectomy and I feel very lucky to have her as my doctor. She is not only incredibly skilled and experienced at what she does, but she is warm, caring, kind and compassionate. As anxious as I was before my surgery, I had complete trust in her. She has continued to give me excellent care during all of my follow-up appointments. I will be forever grateful to her for saving my life.
