I was referred to Dr. Puttagunta by my PCP to diagnose a particular hormone imbalance, and I was so impressed by the level of care I received. My condition is apparently easy to mis-diagnose, but Dr. Puttagunta was extremely thorough and knowledgeable from start to finish. She didn't rule out any possibilities without seeing test results and data. She explained my test results each time, and if new tests were needed, she explained why and what they would tell us. She was knowledgeable but not overly pushy when putting me on medication. I was free to decline a certain medication that I was uncomfortable with; once I expressed that concern, she presented me with alternatives. I would highly recommend Dr. Puttagunta to anyone needing an endocrinologist.

Dr. Puttagunta is one of the best physicians I have ever seen (I'm 69 years of age). She is attentive, professional, and competent. She takes time to explain what she is doing and your condition.

Dr. Puttagunta, as an endocrinologist, should have certainly known that my symptoms were indicative of hypothyroidism (as indeed my blood levels showed). Unfortunately she completely dismissed my complaints as "something else," and told me my thyroid was "fine" and she couldn't do anything for me. Especially disturbing is the fact that this took place two months after surgery to remove more than half my thyroid, and my blood levels of free T4 were BELOW the normal threshold. So, I returned to my internist who saw immediately that something was wrong; put me on thyroid replacement hormones and has monitored me regularly ever since; and I am doing tremendously better. Yes, the problem WAS my thyroid -- and I would have expected a specialist to know that from the symptoms alone, but also to have realized that the borderline/slightly low FT4 levels along with the symptoms warranted further investigation and treatment. She should certainly know that lab results are not the whole story.
