Clearly, the positive reviews left at this site are all dupes. They have been posted to bring this doctors star rating up. I have been a patient of this doctor and his staff. Thank God, I have changed doctors. I have also read every review which is negative. Believe me, I could repeat what they just said? But I find that unnecessary as I've experienced everything these other people that have given low star ratings have experienced. Please know that duping ratings online with high star ratings is very commonplace. As is people posting ratings with low stars to bring a doctor's ratings down. Just read the stories. You can tell the difference between and educated dupe braiding and a miserable patient writing a rating.

I only get to see Dr. Scherlis every 6 months and for only 5 seconds at the most. Instead, I have the most uncomfortable visit with his NP, Michelle. She is a cold hearted person that treats you as if you don’t know your own body nor pain levels. You are not treated as a person struggling with pain on a daily basis but as a number. I’ve been a patient, going on 4 yrs. I have had extreme chronic pain for 20 yrs. I met a woman there, 10 yrs older than myself, and she only has a bulging disc but, due to her age, gets better treatment (She also has a different doctor). When I started going to Dr. Scherlis I had bulging discs and arthritis in my spine. I now, not only have the same thing, that has worsened tremendously but, also Fibromyalgia, crushed disc pinching against my Sciatica nerve, High Blood Pressure, Depression, Insomnia, and was just recently diagnosed with the unfortunate case of Internal Shingles. Yet, she will not change my coarse of treatment & treats me as if it’s all in my mind even though MRI’s and many trips to the ER suggests it is very much real. I started having pain, tingling sensation, and numbness in my hip almost a year ago. Now, for the past 3 weeks, it has been full blown unbearable . It’s so bad that my entire side, leg, and foot feels as if I’m being constantly hit with a sledgehammer. I had to consistently beg Michelle just to get a more recent MRI, in which when I arrived, the staff informed me that she cancelled the MRI on my hip and to only have my back done. And according to my MRI, my back had worsened but, she refused to treat me as such. I have been to the ER 3 times in one week just to get a shot to make it through the day. I then went back to Michelle and had to demand a surgical consult in which she was completely hesitant. Turns out, that before Spine and Nero could set an appointment, they needed some info from Michelle. It’s been over a week and she still has not returned their call. It’s as if she gets a kick out of my suffering. I honestly don’t know how much more I can take. I really feel as if she is trying extremely hard to force depression on me cause she sure doesn’t want to help.
On top of all this, after my procedure, I found out that someone has down right lied on my paperwork. It is Stated that I have had 50% relief from my care given. NEVER ONCE have I ever had that much relief. 10% maybe, but never 50.
Also, on top of that, I found out that my true Copay is $30. I have been getting charged $35 for 3yrs and, instead of getting my money back, their claiming that extra money went to a NO SHOW FEE, in which I have not ever missed an appointment.
Other than all this, the other nurses are awesome. Nurse Practitioners should learn from them.
I absolutely DO NOT recommend this clinic!!!

Dr. Scherlis has done wonders for me. The staff is awesome. Sometimes I have to wait long periods of time between each visit. But it's worth the wait. They are very helpful providing me with knowledge on what they are doing and ways that I can help myself. Thank you for letting me participate . And thank you DR. Scherlis. You rock❤

I am a middle aged woman who has lived in multiple states over the past 15 yrs. I have severe back issues. I found this clinic to be not only un empathetic, but I felt treated as cattle in that I was on a program adopted by my former doctor, after trying several other treatment plans. It did not matter what my "other doctor" or other doctors thought, or even what was wrong with me. They have already decided for you. I was only given a certain amount of medications and told that "only cancer patients get that medicine". I am not a junky, I have severe pain and MRI's to prove it. I do not recommend this clinic or Dr. Scherlis as on top of feeling like cattle, I was never allowed to even meet Dr. Scherlis until my injection. This clinic does push injections and yes I have my appt. But if the injection doesn't work, then what? In addition I had to wait almost 2 hours for part of my first refill and then be told I would never meet the doctor? It seems that all patients are treated pretty much the same. This clinic has absolutely NO empathy, does not follow through, and makes you feel like a junky, even tho you need your pain meds. I feel very sorry for all the other folks in pain that can't even properly communicate with a "specialized pain doctor" but instead see a Nurse Practiconer, with a cold heart, and has no idea what is wrong yet says, "we can't give you that', that is reserved for cancer patients". WHAT kind of care is this? What is this world coming to? The real true people in pain are NOT getting what they need and those who abuse get it all and probably on the streets of ALABAMA. Real truth be told? The Doctors at this clinic and in the whole state of ALABAMA are afraid of the state laws. They are more concerned about themselves than the people they treat and those who really need these pain medications. Each person should be cared for on a true "case by case" basis. I was meant to feel like a piece of cattle. Look elsewhere for empathetic and true help! Greedy Factory? You betcha!!

Referred to this doc for severe pain in my neck, left arm and low back that was making it difficult for me to live my life. Never actually got to MEET the doc before he started sticking needles into my spine (procedures). Instead, got to talk with a Nurse Practitioner who went over my history and symptoms, while never TOUCHING me (although their website states that you will have a complete PHYSICAL before you are treated...). First appointment was early April, but the first date they could give me for my "procedure" was late JUNE! This practice, especially this doc, obviously has WAY too many patients, and is still accepting NEW ones! At the first procedure, I was told that he would be doing three injections, two weeks apart; the shots ended up being MONTHS apart due to the difficulty of scheduling me into the HUGE mass of patients that he sees. When I had questions it usually took two to three calls to get answers because nurses did not return my calls. This place is a GREEDY FACTORY!

Dr. Morris L. Scherlis is only seen during procedures but I don't mind. I am a very nervous Nelly when being put under but he has always been extremely kind, polite, gentle, and is very caring about his patients. His NP Greg and other staff has always treated me with respect and have never made me feel bad about anything. I highly recommend this doctor!

Dr. Scherlis has saved my life. No, he will not give narcotics to everybody, and he is very careful with drugs, but he changes the pain where it starts. He is great with procedures, always professional and pleasant. His staff is wonderful and caring. My father and sister both see him, and will not get back surgerys because of his treatments.

Thanks to Dr. Scherlis I am able to function and enjoy my life with minimal pain. I cannot imagine how miserable I would be without Dr Scherlis. He is a very caring and compassionate dr, and because of him my quality of life is much improved.
