Doctor did not perform the surgery that was discussed. Made condition worse, and had to undergo a second surgery to correct her mistakes.

Dr. Downey is an extremely caring and diligent doctor. Over the two year period I was cared for by her, she went above and beyond to try to remedy my ailments. After an extreme surgery,performed by Dr. Downey, I am not longer afflicted by the symptoms I suffered from. I am grateful to Dr. Downey and all that she did for me.

Dr.Downy has practically saved my life. I had a cholesteatoma growing in my ear for several years. My mother and I visited countless ENTs and no one could diagnose my ear problem properly. Finally, we were reffered to Dr.Downey. She performed three surgerys on me until the cholesteatoma was all removed. A cholesteatoma is difficult to remove all at once because if even one cell is left it will grow back. It would have continued to grow until it killed me. Dr.Downey reconstructed my eardrum as well. She is a caring and skilled doctor and i love her.

After two failed tympanoplasties on my 8-yr-old, we will be going elsewhere for her third one. Like others I also experienced long waits, and felt rushed at times.

My experience with Dr. Downey was disappointing and life changing. In my experience, her skills as a surgeon are not equal to her self-confidence. After Downey performed a failed stapedectomy on me, she convinced me to allow her to reoperate without informing me that a revision stapedectomy is an incredibly difficult operation very few non-specialists perform because it is prone to failure. After the second procedure by Downey failed, I was left almost completely deaf. Another operation by a specialist (not on my plan and out of my pocket) several years later restored some high frequency hearing but by then the damage had been done. I now wear a hearing aid. My experience does not support trust in Downey as a surgeon.

Dr. Downey is the best ENT I have seen. I tried to get help from 2 other doctors in Morristown and after DOZENS of doctor visits and even one surgery, I went to Dr. Downey on a recommendation and finally got a diagnosis. She is smart and compassionate. I'm glad I found her.

Dr. Downey is fully knowledgeable in her field. She is up on the latest technologies and I would not ever consider going to anyone else. I had gone to many other Otolaryngologists and they were not able to help me with my problems. One Otolaryngologist tried to help me but he realized that I needed an Otolaryngologist with Dr. Downey's expertise and he suggested that I make an appointment and meet with her. In his opinion she had the knowledge of the ears that other Otolaryngologists didn't have and she would be the best doctor to help and he was right. She has helped me tremendously is always researching ways on how to improve my hearing. If it wasn't for Dr. Downey I believe that I would have become deaf and my life would be very difficult. Dr. Downey is a wonderful person and the best of the best.
