Gruff, seems disinterested, confrontational, not very friendly.

Woof. I've been working in healthcare for 5 years and have yet to come into contact with someone whose ego is so large it literally pushes the patient out of the room. I'm sorry he may be god's gift to medicine but I will not see him again because after the way he treated me I don't trust him. Impression: arrogant, condescending, rude, impatient.
*Appointment at 11, seen at 11:30, no apology. Front desk was LOUD and rude.

I took my wife to see Dr Dulgove after many months of pain from a referral by our primary care physician, during the first consultation he asked my wife to please describe what was going on , when she started to describe the pain issues he cut her off mid sentence in a stern voice "Stating" just tell me where is your pain.
This caught my wife so off guard she looked at me un able to speak and began to tear up. His eye contact to acknowledge conversation was poor as he was always peering into his computer "thinking " maybe he was on his face book??The remaining part of the visit seemed to go a little better, we have him benefit of the dought and came back again , subsequent visits left her even more frustrated and confused about the direction of her care .
We finally wised up and found a real physiatrist to get some answers .
And finally on the road to recovery, I wouldn't recommend Dr Dulgove to my worst enemy !!!!

dr. Dolgov was recommended to me by a specialist I respect. That being said, my experience of this physician was unbelievably atrocious. I would like to rate his knowledge, but I couldn't get past the attitude. He actually asked me to stop talking and listen to him when he was the only person in a room of 2, talking! I was allowed to ask a question, but was cut off in the middle of it. Dr. Dolgov demonstrated the most offensive, and least effective, office interaction with a patient that I have experienced. He must not be aware that there are other we'll know quality specialists in his field in--well this is Boston!!!! So disappointed in this visit. Letting his colleague know that he might want to reconsider referrals to Dr. Dolgov. So sad to see inflated ego obfuscate effective treatment.

Wow - he must have changed because when I saw him in 2005 - he was wonderful! His bedside manner was great, he listened to me, gave me pain meds, anti-inflammatories, MRI etc. Had the spinal injections - that lasted me up until 2015 - going to see him on Tuesday. After reading all these not-so-nice-reviews about him, I hope he hasn't changed that much.

Dr. Dolgov is a very conventional doctor with a conventional treatment approach. Not surprisingly, he was an arrogant know-it-all, not even taking the time to discuss alternative therapies. He immediately shot down all conversation about DRUG-FREE, exercise-based approaches which actually work. Additionally, he didn't tell me about the sids effects of the medicine he gave me, which made me feel quite ill for several hours and did NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, to quell the pain or make my condition better. In fact, it made it worse. Would not go back under any circumstances!!!

Don't bother. Went in to see him for disc issue. Felt like I was bothering him by being there.Suspect he sees what the condition is then has a standard approach to treating it (i.e. a "one size fits all" approach), rather than treating each patient and their condition on an individual basis. He barely did any testing (had me stand on my toes) to see if I had lost any mobility in legs. Basically tells me to increase pain killers and sit around for a month or so until next appt with him. Didn't provide much in terms of a plan going forward and how to improve my condition. Saw another doctor in the same week. Had totally different experience. Provided meds that were more appropriate for me,in depth review of MRI, prescription for PT and all parts of legs (from hip to toes)were tested to determine if any nerve damage /loss of mobility. Felt I would be well on my way to improvement and recovery by going to a different doctor.

Found to be condescending, full of his own self-importance. Diagnosis right on, but that was known before the appt.Spinal issues compounded by recent cardiac procedure. Due to cardiac meds, unable to have epidural injections. Was told to check with my cardiologist. On a follow up appt. after MRI and speaking with cardiologist, I tried to relay this info to Dr. Dolgov. His reply was"Did I ask for his opinion?" That was the end of our relationship. He is not compassionate at all. Refuses pain meds or gives only enough to almost make it to the injection date. Already had spinal stenosis with radiculopathy, new herniation of 3 discs, incredible pain lower back and both legs. Was also irritated that I didn't want the MRI done at the facility of his choice, not in my insurance network. Was angry when asked to fill out the order for a different facility.
