I had never seen this man until my son was 8 months old and had a extremely high fever and had to take him in on a Sunday. He was so sick he wouldn't even cry. What a wonderful and caring man...he was truly worried about my little boy...they thought he had meningitis. He ordered half a dozen tests on my son before he was satisfied that he did not have meningitis but some sort of other virus. I was very sick with the same virus and he was also concerned with my health. Such a loving caring man.

Dr. Durant is a wonderful doc. He takes his time with each patient, so be prepared to wait. However, you and your child will get the time and attention deserved. Very knowledgable and great with kids!

Dr DuRant is wonderful with all of my kids (13, 9, 1). My only complaint is that he is nearly always 1+ hours late. I just try and get the first appointment of the day.

Very good doctor. Probably one of the best pediatricians in the country. Truly cares about patients.

Dr. James DuRant, Jr. of Sumter Pediatrics is the most wonderful, thorough, educated, and loving pediatricians I have EVER encountered. I have two daughter, one which has Crohn's Disease and my neice and nephew see him as well. He has the best bed-side manner and makes the children feel special. He is also the most thorough doctor in Sumter. He does not stop until he finds the cause of what ever symptoms the child is experiencing. His office closes at 5:00pm yet he has stayed with us as well as other patients, waiting for x-rays or lab work until 10-11:00pm. He truely loves being a physicians and his number-one concern is his patients. It seems as though nothing else matters. I would recommend him to ANY and EVERY parent. He will love them just as you do. He is a great asset to our family. To him, no child is "Just a patient"!!!
