Dr. Otteman treated our Mother for leukemia several years ago, he not only cared for her as his patient, but cared deeply for our family. At close to the end of her journey, that God had a tighter hold on her than we did. We found great comfort in that. God Bless Dr. Otteman. Renee's

I'm am looking for a new doctor for my mother as I write this review. She was in Dr Otteman's office in Fort Dodge, Ia having a CAT scan & MRI July 29. I was told she was very confused and she was showing personality changes by a MRI Tec prior to her CAT scan. I went to the waiting room to ask Dr Otteman to check her for signs of a stroke. He happened to walk by so I approached him to ask for help. He coldly said No! In tears I asked what should I do and his reply was"take her to your family physician". He turned and walked away. I had to load her in my car, leave a hospital in Fort Dodge to drive to Webster City. She was screaming "help me" by the next morning. Dr Otteman's office called to inform me there were no changes on her MRI and CAT scan but she was admitted to the WC hospital within 12 hours for a brain tumor causing swelling which our family physician can plainly see on her MRI. She will never be seen by this cold hearted Dr again.

Dr. Otteman and his staff did an exceptional job with my wife who was diagnosed with terminal Pancreatic cancer, the Dr. was very professional and showed both of us a lot of compassion. He did not sugar coat our situation and asked my wife how she wanted to feel with the time she had left we could have done more treatments but he recommended against it which I thank him for. What more do you want from a man who has to deal with those types of health issues on a daily basis. Very professional Doctor and Staff. And I thank you.Brad

He is remarkably rude; he won't answer questions and acts affronted that you even asked them. He had me on medication that was not recommended for people in my age group, and it was not effective for me and had side effects. He didn't seem interested in figuring out the problem, and didn't seem to care about my health. Thank goodness I finally made a switch and found a thorough, caring physician.

Don't trust many doctors, but love Dr. Otteman. He will always give his opinion on any health question we have asked him. Always returns phone calls. Very compassionate and caring towards our entire family. Thank God for doctors like him.

He is treating my brother inlaw with a serious condition. Not only does it sound like he has no bed side manner, he also has the God complex. It's a shame he has to be that way since he appears to be knowledgable.

I found Dr. Otteman and his staff to be most helpful and courteous. He was straight forward when explaining options, procedures and the diagnoses. He even personally called me to follow-up with a question that I had. I felt that I was working with a very capable and competent individual.

He may understand science but he doesn't know beans about people. No bedside manner at all.
