Dr Ajanee is always rushed. She does not listen, giving advice that is neither warranted, nor asked for. She does not discuss things. Because she does not listen, she jumps to conclusions and wants to start treatment for for a condition for which I am already seeing another specialist. She appears to be knowledgeable, but by not listening and rushing through an appointment, her conclusions and what she recommends do not give me confidence in her. I am going elsewhere. I need a doctor who will discuss things with me, and listen to me, so we can work together for my health. I will not get this with Dr. Ajanee.

The very first review on here is SPOT ON. Average wait time until I saw the doc was 1 hour and 13 minutes. Numerous HIPAA violations noticed while standing at the receptionist desk (I work in healthcare so I notice that stuff) And ALWAYS felt rushed by Dr. Ajanee. But the worst, was the situation over this past week...

I started seeing Dr. Ajanee after my previous doctor was being questioned and almost lost his license for unethical practices. One of them being me, who he had upped my dosage of Adderall so high it has been hard stop taking it. I told Dr. Ajanee's office I was writing reviews after what they have done the past few days and the nurse said "make sure you tell them how much you are taking!" I said ok? Like that matters? So hi everyone, I was prescribed to 60mg of Adderall a day.

I have been taking it for about 14 years, so when I was originally prescribed I was only 11 or 12. When my doctor upped my dosage over the years I never thought anything of it, I trusted him. Little did I know how addictive it was and eventually you will become chemically dependent on it. Matter of fact, my brother was on it as well and his adrenal glands do not fully function anymore.

So after MONTHS of being scared and hesitant, I asked Dr. Ajanee if she would help me wean off of it. I work a lot and I'm a single mom so I really can't afford to go through all the nasty side effects so I asked her if I could wean off over a 6 to 12 month period (12 month being the max). She said yes. I also asked her if I could pace myself and not have to wean any faster than I felt like I could handle. She said ok. She even said I could call for more if I decided I'm not ready for the next dose decrease.

My thought is… if this doesn't HAVE to be hard, why make it hard? It took a lot of courage to even bring up weaning off because doctors are so quick to just take you off the med. That is why I am now so upset.

I called on Tuesday to ask for an extra 5mg (2 times a day) Rx
I have weaned to 50mg, and wanted to remain at that for one more month until my next decrease (I only had an Rx for 40mg left, which is why I called an requested the extra 5mg BID Rx)

I also told them that for my next 3 prescriptions I would like them to be:
1. 45mg
2. 45mg
3. 40mg

I was told a flat out no and that Dr. Ajanee says I need to see a different doctor from now on.

I am mind blown.

I have always been a great patient, never have caused or had any trouble. I come in for my appointments, pay my bill and do what the doctor says. I asked them to have her call me because I don’t understand. That’s fine that she didn’t want to give me the prescription (even though she DID tell me I could wean off slowly) but to say I need to get a new doctor?! I almost laughed thinking they were joking… but they were not. After 3 days of telling them I need to talk to Dr. Ajanee, they said “she doesn’t want to talk to you”. I even said “Is this really happening? What is going on???”

I will say after that, I finally let out my frustration by telling them I was going to make sure I write a review on this entire situation and that’s when I heard “make sure you tell them how much you are taking too”. Wow. For one, you are a receptionist and not the doctor. What do you know about mediation and dosing? Two, a patient is trying to wean off of a medication that her previous doctor over-prescribed her too, and you are talking to me like I’m a drug addict…

Umm, did I mention that I was the one who asked to be weaned off?

This is exactly why patients in my exact situation are so scared to speak up and ask for help. The dose I was on was high but not unheard of. I simply decided one day that I was tired of being dependent on a medication. I need SOMETHING for my ADD, but now there are non-stimulants that aren’t addictive and that’s where I want to get.

So thank you Dr. Ajanee, for helping me through my first 2 months of weaning and then after a ton of progress, dropping me as a patient. For no reason.

Still would LOVE to know what happened. Everytime you had your nurses call me, there was a different excuse. By the way, they all literally told me they were getting frustrated because they told you I wanted to talk to you directly and you still had them call me instead. Like you couldn’t even tell me ANY of this in person.

(Oh wait, there was one excuse the nurse relayed to me. It was “If she prescribes anything over 40mg she could lose her license.” No she can’t. She can’t at all. And if that was the case why did she prescribe me 60mg for the past year? No laws have changed. She can’t lose her license. So she is just not prescribing me to the 50 then 45mg because she doesn’t WANT to)

This will forever be a mystery to me. I have never been treated so badly for no reason at all. Especially while trying to get OFF a medication and ESPECIALLY from a medical “professional”.

However, I have had several doctors say they would be happy to help me wean off, the one I made an appointment with this upcoming Monday even said that once I’m off the med I could see a nutritionist before starting a non-stimulant! Awesome idea that I never even thought of! I’d love to not take a pill every day if possible. Now THAT is a real doctor :)

I have been seeing Dr Ajanee for years. She is an excellent Dr but her scheduling is less desirable. She has always spent time with me to discuss my issues and gives the correct diagnoses. She will find out what is wrong. She calls back with results. The main problem that I have with her is the long wait, most times over an hour. I have never been seen at my appointment time which is very sad and the staff decides what order people are seen regardless of the appointment time which is poor customer service. Multiple scheduling at the same time also makes the wait long. Again, she is a very knowledgeable Dr and spends quality time with her patients once you get in to see her after a very long wait. That part is very disappointing.

I have been seeing Dr. Ajanee for several years now and I love her. She is very thorough, knowledgable and she tells it like it is, which is a quality I really appreciate in a doctor. PLUS, she is also a gynecologist so she can combine my annual gynecological exams into my annual physical. Dr. Ajanee is a reliable, personable and thorough one-stop-shop ;)
