Dr. Nikaitani's bedside manner is somewhat lacking, but he knows his stuff. When I went to Queen's to get my hip replaced, the anesthesiologist said that the report Dr. Nikaitani worked up for me was great, and he wished my doctor was on HIS island, because he'd go to that doctor himself. Dr. Nikaitani probably saved my life by not letting me get my hip operated on until I was physically ready to do so. He is up to speed on IT stuff and has his laptop with him whenever I visit. All my past history is on it and he has it all there at a glance. My one gripe is that his office is often slow about phoning in prescriptions to the pharmacy; sometimes I have to call them and remind them after calling the pharmacy and being told my meds aren't available for pickup. The pharmacy has said, "Yeah, that office is like that." Other than that, if you want good, no-nonsense care, Dr. Nikaitani is your man.

Excellent, professional friendly staff. This office can get you an appt. in a very timely manner and they have always been on time. Dr Nikaitani is very straightforward and knowledgeable. He has been very helpful with preventive medicine as well. I feel lucky to have this type of medical care while I spend my winters in Kona. I wish my care on the mainland were this comprehensive!!

Phenomenal doctor and staff. He gets to the heart of the matter in a non-alarmist way. Very thorough, and his nurse is top-notch. Very competent. Feel extremely fortunate to have a doctor of his caliber here.

Office Staff yelled at me after I decided to cancel my appointment because my insurance carrier told me that he isn't a "preferred provider", they wouldn't cover my visit. I called the office staff to cancel, they yelled at me and hung up, very unprofessional and continued to tell me that he was a preferred provider, but my insurance says he's not. My mother also went to him years back and he was very rude and pushy.
