Totally missed my ruptured ACL despite 3 arthrosopies. Years of problems as a result until it and the damage caused by having no ACL were fixed by a different and highly competent surgeon.

Dr Martin should be avoided at all costs. Please see [http://www.qirc.qld.gov.au/resources/pdf/published/2010/july/decision_wc90_2009_080710.pdf] where his opinion was in complete isolation to that of the other four doctors. DVA seems to love this guy, and while he saves them money initially, he complicates problems for ex-ADF and other. A friend of mine (who also happens to be a doctor) got sent to him; the resulting report was a sham. My friend, armed with clinical knowledge, tore holes through the report from a purely factual and clinical perspective. STAY AWAY.

BE AWARE!
Saw this Dr for a insurance company, after him reading all the reports from other Specialists I've seen 4 in fact, and I've already been dignosed by those Drs , he totally went against them, and sated that I'm fully fit.
Good luck to anyone who has to attend this Dr for a report to a insurance company

Any defence people avoid this bloke at all costs. DVA are well aware this bloke will save them millions on entitled payouts for work injuries. I provided this bloke with years of medical evidence of injuries sustained during my service and these injuries also had been recognised by DVA and reported on by numerous other doctors. After 2 shoulder reconstructions he asks me to raise my arm, once the point of pain was reached he then went on to grab my arm and push it higher to the roof, saying cmon you can get it higher than that. He lied in his written examination numerous times saying that he observed me walking up and down stairs for a knee injury and it was fine...this never happened. And the list goes on. Now I am forced to take this to a review board because Bruce Martins examination story is different to 3 other doctors and numerous years of medical evidence in my med docs. The VRB board now say that the years of evidence in my docs and the 3 other doctors evidence is not relevant.

I was sent to see Dr Martin by DVA. He seemed genuinely disinterested in my condition, and gave me a cursory examination. Off the back of this and some X-rays (which noted a few things, but not much), I was told that there was no injury - despite years of history in my medical documents. I now have to fight DVA the hard way. This bloke seems to be interested in keeping the money rolling in for himself, by treating those sent to see him as a waste of his time, but a means to $$$. I was interested to note that he has a reputation in the medico-legal community for exactly this sort of behaviour.

I was sent to see this "specialist" by workcover. When I arrived (on time) I was told the doctor had just stepped out. Forty five minutes later he wandered back in. After filling out three pages of questions about the injury, {not all were relevant} he then, when having the consultation asked me the same questions that were on the pages in front of him. He never touched the injured part of me just asked me to move the injured limb while he sat behind his desk. I believe he just writes what the insurers want, it certainly wasn't an examination to answer any questions about about cause or extent of injury. He is practising at hope Island on the Gold Coast.

Watch this old rogue. Now practices on Wickhan Tce Brisbane with a Medico legal Establishment instructed by Insurance Companies such as NRMA (who only pay claims when ordered to) He writes bogus reports for the insurers, for a fee of course. Known within Personal Injury Litigation circles as the dr who will say that the dead can walk. Has absolutely no integrity, will do the insurer's bidding for a few pieces of silver, a real modern day Judas. CTP, worker's compensation or personal injury claimants stay away from this a'hole unless you rely upon him kicking the bucket before going to trial.
