He ‘delivered’ my baby in 2005... it was like birthing in the 18th century. Now looking back as an experienced RN, I regret not doing my research on this incompetent ‘doctor’. He should not be practicing but his $$ eyes are bigger than his ethics. Don’t take my word for it, take what the Supreme Court ruled.

It was my daughter's birthday recently and we were looking at photos of her as a teeny baby. It got me thinking about my birth experience. Her birth was the happiest day of my life - a joyous event, however, I had the misfortune to have Dr. Nelson Savein called in after the birth to repair a third degree tear. This doctor hasn't got the communication skills to work with dogs let alone people. He repeatedly pried my legs apart while I screamed making the comment: "It doesn't hurt, believe me you'll know when it hurts". This was completely unnecessary as once I was given pain relief (laughing gas) the pain from the tear was gone as was the urge to hold my legs together. After he left the nurse called him "Mr. Personality" and the Doctor who delivered my baby told me that he yells at women in labour. A doctor has to pretty bad before his / her colleagues will say negative things about him or her. He put me on a liquid diet for a week after the birth. The nurse told me most doctors wouldn't be so strict about this. I wish I had listened to the nurse as I was almost ready to collapse from lack of food by the end of the week and I had trouble breastfeeding due to lack of food. Totally unnecessary. All I can say is thank goodness this doctor did not deliver my beautiful baby girl.

I fully agree with all negative comments This man should never have been allowed to practice medicine.

Dr. Savein was the doctor on call at Burnaby Hospital when I was delivering my daughter. My daughter was in a transverse breech. He first suggested I try to deliver her naturally but I asked him if the cord could wrap around her neck. He said yes it was possible, I decided not to take the chance. Why he even suggested it was still baffles me. He cut me left to right, then cut me more, he could not get my baby out so he cut me all the way up to my belly button. My daughter was delivered, when my husband went with the nurse to bathe her, he noticed the water was getting very bloody. Turns out Dr. Savein cut her thumb almost off. She needed stitches right away, 4 stitches on a 7 pound baby is a lot. When stitching her thumb he said nothing just did it and said they will dissolve. A week later the community nurse came to check on us. I told her the stitches were not dissolving, also that I had a terrible odour coming from my stitches. At first she thought her punctured my bladder but as it turned out I had staff infection in my stomach. She called his office to have me seen right away. I went with my baby. He removed her stitches, saying nothing and gave me a prescription for my infection. I was all hunched over from the pain due to the infection. The only thing he said to me as I was leaving the medical room was "Stand up straight it looks bad for business" because I would be walking through the reception area. I was so uncomfortable and worried about my baby, I said nothing. To this day, I wish I said something back to him. My scar is a mess and so is my daughters. This man should not be practising, no concern, no manners and over all a very bad doctor.

I had C-section by Dr. Savein. He left me with an uneven long scar and the insertion site looks not pretty at all. He was not personal and not caring. I had to go see other OBGYN for several visits after my C-section. I will never see him again and like to suggest people not to see him for your own good.

I was recommened to Dr Savein over 30 years ago, I have to say he is a kind gentle man.Who saved mine and my daughters life. she was 2 lbs 11 ozs at birth. I had had several miscarriages ans stillborns with other Dr's. I became pregant several years later, again after havig a couple of miscarriages. He helped me through c-section, have another daughter. I realize that some dr's don't always have good bed side manners, and he can ruff and gruff...but he is like the rest of us..puts his pants on one leg at a time, There are days that i know i am so miserable that I shouldn't have gotten out of bed..Don't tell me that each and everyone of you 's on here has gotten up with a great sunny disposition every morning of your life. Everyone is human.. I just had 3 heart attacks, the heart specialist made a wrong judgement call and I eneded up having the 3rd one because he didn't call it right, I am still here..error is to be human. We are not all perfect. Even Dr.s M.Cundy-Verheul

Doctor Savein is our Angel from God! My wife was 37weeks with twins in breech and other transverse, all other docs, ob's, midwifes etc. Said we had to do Csection, by stroke of luck Dr Savein was filling in for our OB and told us he can deliver us naturally and DID!! He could have easily C sectioned my wife and made double or triple amount of Money but looked out for our best interest and not his own! I appreciated his no nonsense approach and confident approach , Dr Savein is the man. If we had not met him, my wife would be bed ridden for 6weeks scarred up in pain , god bless him. I was pregnant with Twins, found out in my ultrasound that I was 2cm dilated, with bulging membranes. It was decided that I had to have a stitch put in my cervix to keep it closed. Dr Savein ended up doing the procedure. He was not very compassionate, or understanding of my situation. He made it seem like I would be lucky to stay pregnant for another week. (It took me 3 years to get pregnant). He discharged me and said I didnt need to be on bedrest, and said I could work, because working is no different than sitting on my ass at home and watching Oprah. I had an ultrasound a week later. My cervix was still dilated 2cm. The stitch didnt work. They transferred me to RCH, and he then again made a statement that I would be lucky if I stayed pregnant, and saw my children survive. I stayed pregnant at RCH and delivered my twins via csection. (amazing doctors at RCH). THe doctor who delivered my babies, said that Dr Savein did not put the right stitch in my cervix, and did not do it properly.
