Ballard is a competent and skilled surgeon. His understanding of cultural a ethnic differences (responses) to the trauma of surgery and our responses to pain and suffering post op leave much to be desired! Ballard is condescending dismissive full of hubris to the point of contempt! On the field of battle choose him first he won't fail. Fully aware of 4 yr history of opioid 4x/day the man prescribed a dose 4x less than VA gave.He may be erring on side of fear.fortunately a surgeon of greater authority remedied his faux pas.Over 1 yr after my double knee replacement im still in PAIN. Severed nerve is the concensus. Pain can not be understood vicariously! I am going to attempt see him for pn might referal. This will reveal his character and I know he is a racist. As are many all white Med staffs in southern hospitals outside Atlanta. 10:1 he tries to deflect defer down play diminish defer his character will decry the day.Im battle no better surgeon.but....he's racist!!

Dr. Ballard is an awesome doctor. My situation was very difficult to diagnose. He treated me with so much compassion and was concerned about me as though I was a family member. I cannot say enough good things about him. He prayed with me both in his office several times as well as before the surgery procedures I had.
He is the most caring and compassionate doctor I have ever met.
The outcome of my surgery was great and the hospital stay was the best I have ever experienced.

Dr. Ballard is not a good person or a good doctor. He hides behind his supposed Christianity. There are way too many reasons that I say this. I had a full knee replacement and went 18 hours without any medication after surgery begging for pain relief. The nurses and Dr. Ballard said my medicine pump should be taking care of my pain. After 18 hours the pump finally ran out of the pain medicine. When they were refilling the pump they found out all the pain medication had been leaked on the floor because of an error made while setting it up. Dr. Ballard came to my room with condescending attitude and ask why I was being mean to the nursing staff. This was while the pump was not working. I told him something was wrong and the pain was unbearable. As a doctor, you should always listen to your patient. He didn't. The aftercare was terrible. Left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. It was a terrible experience. Too many things to list.

Dr. Ballard is an excellent doctor. He has performed 2 total knee replacements, left and right, and he has replaced both of my hips. I have nothing but praise for him. He has a kind manner and he really set my mind at ease when he prayed with me before each surgery. I would highly recommend him.

Dr.Ballard is the most amazing doctor in the planet. There have been multiple occations in which i have seen the man work miracles. He has treated both of my knees, and my ankle a long with my sisters knee. I love that he's a Christian. He is known for being factual and truthful.. sadly the comments bellow me are from ignorant people who don't know what they're talking about

Ballard is a terrible doctor. He operated on my hip twice. The piece he put in the second time was broken almost from the time of surgery. He had me come back for months and x-rayed me every time and said he didn't know why I still had a limp. He knew it was broken. I took my x-rays to another doctor; he saw immediately what the problem was. Ballard failed to mention the x-rays were useless. Just more money for him. He is not even a good person. He lies. The doctor who looked at the x-rays said he saw nothing that merited hip replacement surgery. By the way, I went to Ballard in the first place about my knee and while I was still on a walker from the hip, he operated on my knee. He told me I was right all the time, it really was my knee. This man should not be operating on anybody. I will have to use a cane for the rest of my life.

I promise, I'm not kin to the man or do I know anyone who works at their clinic. I find Dr. Ballard one of the top knee surgeons around. I had knee surgery done by two different doctors in near-by Cleveland and they never got it right. I went to Dr. Ballard and he got it right on the first knee surgery. I was in a lot of pain until he fixed my knees. I know that if I ever need a knee replacement, he will be the doctor I look to to do it. I felt very comfortable with his explanations and his overall kindness concerning my knee pain. We tried some injections before rushing me into surgery too which I liked. Overall, I would give the man a 5-star rating!
