Hi. I first met Breck in 2009. I went to him and explained how I had fluctuating severe pain everyday since my accident in 2003, when I was pushed out of a moving Road Train, (which is a truck with 3 trailers). As a result of this, I suffered from a fractured skull, swelling of the brain, and a blood clot on my brain. But the one thing that I was & am left to live with for the rest of my life, is suffering with debilitating, Degenerative Arthritis in my neck and back. But thank God, I was so fortunate to meet this incredible human being Dr Alisdair Breck McKay, that he helped me immensely, and made me want to live again. I can honestly say that from the first time, that I made an appointment to see Breck, when he was at Victoria Point, I walked out feeling mentally emotionally and physically better. And then from the second visit on, I will never forget walking out and I actually done a cartwheel!!! It was like my pain magically diminished from 1 million percent to 1%. And he has helped me 100% how to deal with, & learn how to manage my pain the best I can. But since his retirement, as much as I try, I have never been able to feel as good as I did when I was seeing Breck. I especially miss feeling 100% PAIN FREE after having my injections as part of my treatment. Not only do I believe in, and 100% back his unbelievable treatment when it comes to treating ANY kind of back or neck pain, I I truly believe that he is a God sent. In my eyes, he is the most incredibly intelligent, knowledgeable,genuinely caring, genius that I have ever had the privilege and pleasure to meet. And I swear to God, I have NEVER come across, in my 43 years of living, come across such an incredible human being. I have only positive, kind and beautiful things to say about this man, and I will always be forever grateful for his help in treating me. I have the utmost respect, & hold the highest regard for Breck. And not only was he my Doctor/Specialist, he was my friend and confident as well. I miss him terribly.

I have been to Dr Breck McKay on two occasion over 10 years. I had shocking lower back pain that no other doctor could help me with. I had been to the Mater Pain Clinic for injections under twilight sedation, and as soon as I awoke, I knew that the pain was still there. Breck McKay gave me approx. 4 -5 injections in the lower back on the first visit. I was in my early 40's and life was very strained due to constant pain. The injections didn;t seem to work immediately, but whilst on a holiday in Bali around 10 days later, I said to my husband "I now can turn over in bed in the middle of the night and not be woken by throbbing lower back pain. I have since had a second round of injections and these have helped me maintain normal life for another 5 years. I am very scared of the thought of Dr McKay retiring.

I have suffered from chronic pain all my life but after a very serious MVA (car and truck) I was left unable to walk Dr Mckay was the 5th doctor I had seen regarding my pain and the first doctor to ever make sence of my injuries he explained what was going on simply and made it easy for me to understand , firstly he sorted out the pain by getting me onto the right medication for my pain secondly he gave me a long term solution a few simple injection's into areas that no other G.P had every looked at I walked out of his surgery for the first time in 5 months and over the next 4-5 days my condition improved dramaticly in ways I cannot describe I had my first full night of rest in 5 months. Dr Mckay is a miricle worker and deserves the name "Back Whisperer" anyone suffering from chronic pain should see him ,today I still drive over 2 hours to see him as I trust no one else to treat me

Dr McKay has treated my pain since 2003...he is exceptional - patients in this severe chronic pain are educated, each time I learn something new about my chronic severe regional pain. Only when he has exhausted all treatments, then he will say time to see a surgeon. He is hands on. A Doctor cannot assume your pain, he/she must touch those regions to understand the reaction the pain does to the patient. He is amazing, exceptional and his duty of care is above and beyond his Hippocratic Oath. This man not only treats the pain, he educates you, listens to you, understands. For me I would have given up on my this life because my quality of life was zero. The most precious gift he has given me is 'Time' his injections and I get many to manage pain, I have two spinal cord stimulators and last year two total hip replacements...his dedication gives me 'time' to do small things...that keep me positive that I can still achieve small things...and that is priceless.

chronic pain sufferer for over 30 years. Have tried every possible treatment with little or no success. Dr. McKay has provided pain relief that has not been possible from any of these other sources. Not a fix, but makes the pain more bearable and allows me to enjoy my life.
