For me, running is essential to managing the stress of law school. When I learned I completely tore my ACL while training for the Marine Corp Marathon, I recall stating “I couldn’t afford to undergo surgery”. Dr. Rudzki exceeded his promise to help me. His was compassionate, understanding and still managed to keep me from pushing too hard and jeopardize my reconstructed ACL. Despite my concern that he was “out-of-network”, he was very generous. The cost was amazing for the excellent follow-up care I received. Next week I will participate in my first sprint triathlon.

When I called Dr. Rudzki’s office last year, I was in tears. Hours before I was training for the Marine Corp Marathon on pace to set a PR… now I was reduced to lying on my couch with a giant bag of ice on my knee. I had jumped off the road to avoid a cyclist, twisted my knee, and I had felt the dreaded “pop”. For me, running was more than just fitness, it was essential to managing the stress of law school. When Dr. Rudzki saw me at 8am the next morning on K street and informed me that I needed an MRI to confirm I had ruptured my ACL, I recall aggressively asserting that “I couldn’t afford to be injured, let alone have surgery”. Dr. Rudzki promised he would do everything he could to help me. AND he exceeded his promise. His was compassionate, understanding and still managed to keep me from pushing too hard and jeopardize my reconstructed ACL. (Yes I’m one of those patients who really wants to negotiate my care). Despite my initially concerns that he was “out-of-network”, he was very generous and for the excellent follow-up care I received, the rate was AMAZING! He introduced me to the talented physical therapist at SMART Therapy. His assistant always responded promptly to my email questions, even in the middle of the night.

Next week I will participate in my first sprint triathlon. THANK YOU DR. RUDZKI and staff!!!!

Two years ago, our pediatrician recommended I take my 17-year-old son to see Dr. Rudzki after he dislocated his arm, resulting a lesion in his shoulder. Our family is extremely thankful for the recommendation. Dr. Rudzki spent almost an hour discussing shoulder instability with my son and me. He was able to explain to my son how he would use current medical research, including studies from professional athletes, to guide the rehab process after surgery. Dr. Rudzki was very thoughtful regarding the timing of the surgery, allowing my son to finish his fall term exams and coordinating with his teachers for the 6 weeks he needed to wear a sling after surgery. Dr. Rudzki participated in frequent phone conversations with my son’s physical therapist and lacrosse coaches – providing valuable guidance as he returned to sport. Dr. Rudzki truly understood all aspects of treating high school athletes – including the academic and social pressures. I have recommended Dr. Rudzki to several of my son’s teammates, and their families were equally impressed.

Dr Rudzki replaced my shoulder. After years of terrible pain, my new shoulder is totally, absolutely remarkable! No pain! NoStiffness and no discomfort, no pain!
I was fearful of a joint replacement, however Dr Rudzki took the time to educate me. I'm very thankful that I listened to his advice. I'm able to bake and garden with my grandchildren without shoulder pain.

Dr. Rudzky must be a very busy Dr. which must explain why he had so little time for his patient. All in all, on the 2 occasions I consulted him, he did not spend 10 mins with me. I did not get proper explanation re what my condition was (knee pain), no proper diagnosis nor prognosis. My follow up appointment did not take place. I called an hour before and was told that they had moved appointments around that he was in surgery and that they forgot to inform me.

Dr. Jonas Rudzki performed arthoscopic rotator cuff surgery on me in October 2011 to reattach two completely torn tendons in my dominant arm. The surgery was an unqualified success. Seven months later I have complete motion and significant strength in the arm and can swim freestyle. My first visit to Dr. Rudzki was more of an interview than an exam. I felt he was trying to assess whether I would do the arduous rehab necessary for successful recovery from rotator cuff surgery. I recommend Dr. Rudzki to anyone contemplating shoulder surgery AND who is willing to closely follow the doctor's post surgery instructions.

I don't recommend Dr. Rudzki. I was his patient for a half-torn rotator cuff tendon but ended up with much worse pains and stiffness than I had. He does not care about his patients (my 7 visits lasted 5-10 minutes each). His first treatment was 2 months of anti-inflammatory pills, which he extended 2 weeks longer than recommended. That prolongation led to debilitating gastritis that has not been cured with months of antiacid pills. Then, after a cortisone injection failed (which often happens), he recommended exercises “to strengthen the shoulder muscles,” which proved too hard on my body, and made my condition and pains twice as bad. Finally he sent me to a physiotherapist (SmarTherapy that he partially owns), who indeed found Rudzki's exercises excessive (I am small and 75), yet she did not improve my shoulder either after a dozen sessions. Rudzki and his physiotherapist have not only deprived me of my ability to do Yoga, but I have pain nightly and need pain-killers to sleep.
