I have been seeing Dr. Lyons for several years. As you can see from the comments, a few years ago things were very good. They have gone steadily downhill. I rarely see the doctor herself which is fine with me because she was a little rude to me the last time when I tried to tell her about the issues with her staff. I bet if I was pharma rep. things would be much better. Not all of her staff is rude and incompetant. Her nurse practitioners are usually very cordial and helpful. Her office staff needs training in following up before something happens that jeopardizes her practice or someone's life. Until then I have a feeling she will continue to ignore the issues. If it wasn't for the fact that I rarely have to see her I would've found a new dr. If you are looking for a dr. look elsewhere. You will wait a minimum of two hours at every appointment. At least that has been my experience. I think it's a shame, she used to be a wonderful dr.

Dr. Lyons is horribly neglegent and her staff is incompetent. I requested basic information, call in meds refills to mypharmacy, dates of visits. Her staff never gave me my info, neglected to call in my meds for 1.5 mnths lied about sending out documentation I called about almost every day. When I stopped into her office to pick it up in person, I was thoroughly berated, lambasted with by staff/ office manger chris. chris even went so for as to tell me I was badgering his staff because I requested my records and scripts. Shocked, I asked to speak to Dr. Lyons. He said she was busy. When I said I would sit and wait, he called the police. Another patient who witnessed everything was so appauled he spoke up in my defense. Chris called the police and told them I harassed, threatened( yes, he racilly profiled me). I explained my side& he mysteriously came up with a copy of my records. All the while Dr. Lyons was NO where to be found, she never called as requested.Unlawful& rotten! stayaway

Her staff is the worst every! Mary is the front to her office & represents the Dr. quite well! Both are HORRIBLE! I would never recommend this Doctor to anyone who is informed about their own care & well being. Office staff doesnt own up for mistakes. Dr. has poor bedside manner & doesnt have rights per the medical board to any hospitals. I didnt do my homework & didnt realize she had corrective action against her! Here is the link to see for yourself. I would think twice about having her as your PCP cuz once you have her, it takes time to switch to another Dr. & become established. http://ww2.doh.state.fl.us/FinalOrderNet/folistbrowse.aspx?LicId=3276&ProCde=1901&discpln=DISCPLN So if your thinking about her office, if you like long waits & no phone calls about your concerns or don't need a timely referral than maybe she's the Dr. for you but she isn't the one for me! I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND DR. LYONS per my experiences.

I have been happy with Dr. Lyons and her staff. Dr. Lyons, her PA and her nurse were very helpful to me when I had medical issues. She spent a full 1/2 hour with me each time I saw her which makes me forgive the tardiness overall. I have found the staff to be quite pleasant and I'm particular about this. Because of the thorough care I receive, I am surprisingly waiting to wait. When you need extra time, you'll get it. I am an HBO patient too.

Her staff is my issue also. They are rude to me when I call for any reason; However, I do miss Andrea. She was always very respectfulful, helpful and quick to get my prescriptions to the pharmacy. Mary is my problem staff member. I once asked to speak to the office manager and she claimed that was her title, then I find out that she is only the front desk girl. Dr. Lyons is very thorough and spends more time with the people who need help and not the ones who think they do.

Front desk staff is very rude, nursing could be better, they talk to you like you are an infant, Dr. Lyons is a good doctor though, she just needs new staff

She has never been on time for an appointment. Her staff has been downright rude with me on more than one occasion. She has never given me a physical exam - only asked questions. Time and again I've called and asked for help and been denied unless I pay for an office visit, which is too expensive for me. Unless you have insurance or can afford over $100 to wait two hours to see the nurse, you won't be helped.

I agree with the previous poster about the staff. Andrea told me that my mammogram showed a dense area needing further examination. She failed to look at the second report, which she had in her possesion, which said I was fine (after comparing the results to previous films). I was left to worry for 24 hours until I got the radiologist's report. Secondly, it took three weeks for my mail order scripts to go through because the office "did not have the right fax number." When I complained about these things to Leslie, she told me to write a letter to Dr. Lyons, that she did not have time for this now. I changed to a new doctor that same day. Incidentally, Dr. Lyons never gave me a physical exam and their new office computer system seems to be useless - Dr. Lyons supposedly was ordering tests for me on her computer while interviewing me, but the orders seem to have gone into the ether.

Staff is POOR. No return phone calls, Coding errors with insurance company. Dr. Lyons is wonderful. She listens, takes good care of patient. Needs new staff. I am sure she can hire better people that would love to work. Her staff needs to go! If they stay I will find another doctor.
