I love Dr. Lyons. YES, there is a wait. Just come prepared. Dr. Lyons listens to me, helps me, and educates me along the way. We usually cover 2 or 3 issues each visit and she is thorough. She is well worth the wait.

I love Doctor Lyons and I don't understand the negative reviews. She is a great doctor and most of this comments about her staff are some what true but I can honestly say that all the staff around the Stuart and Port St. Lucie area is the same. I see the same folks passed around from office to office.

I have bever in my life been told; i don't have time and We already talked about that issue and I have to go. I was gob smacked. Then I did a ultrasound call for months to get the results they told me they didn't have them . They never call me back. I had to talk to another doctor that got the results for me. I thought it'd been a couple of months. But this was in July last year and I just got the results. We have been calling the office they say we will call you back. Never happened. The specialist she sent me to try to get the results they weren't even able to. I'm shocked about the treatment you get If you get through on the phone they say how long for a second and then will get back to you. I just called and was sitting for a half an hour waiting i'm trying to call back and I can get through this sucks Right now I have a serious condition and I can't get anybody to talk to me wow

I love Dr. Lyons but hate dealing with the staff. They never return phone calls and I often have to call back because my scripts are never at the pharmacy. They do not act like they care at all for Dr. Lyons even, or they would treat her patients better.

I'm surprised at all the negative comments, but I think different people have different expectations and communication styles and may not take the big picture into consideration. Maybe because I'm a health care professional myself and understand the pressures I'm a lot more tolerant. I love Dr, Lyons. She's the most understanding doctor I've ever had. She spends so much time with me each time, and doesn't ever act like she's got to rush me along. Of course, doing this means she is frequently (or always) running late for appointments. Once you see how she operates, it's easy to work around this. I myself call the office and ask how late they're running. They're honest, they tell you. Then I adjust my arrival time accordingly. I make my appointments late in the day and sometimes I'm there at six or even later, but it's ok. I love having a non-time-pressured visit with her so I can really have a conversation about my concerns. Maybe she doesn't "act like" your idea of what a doctor should act like. I like that she's a regular person, doesn't put on airs, talks to me like a girlfriend and laughs with me. We're close in age--maybe that helps. She's a human being with a life and sometimes has to reschedule appointments. Last time I went I saw the new nurse practitioner (or PA--sorry, don't remember the credentials!) She was young and smart and extremely personable. She's a great addition to the office and will help some of the large caseload issues. There's a reason why Dr. Lyons has a large practice. Her patients like her. I also have to say that Cecelia, whom I think is the office manager, is very nice, helpful, and good-natured. I have had to communicate with the office from my summer home in NY for various issues regarding prescriptions and she has been more than helpful in every way, always getting back to me, going above and beyond.

I haven't experienced any of the issues that I've read in these reviews with the exception of the long wait time. Sometimes people treat you the way you treat them. Just because it's a doctor's office it doesn't mean you get to be rude and demanding. I can see the staff tries their best and working with the public in healthcare is very, very trying job at times!

All this being said, she just may not be a good fit for you. It might not be her fault, it might be you too. Sometimes relationships just don't work out, then you should try to find a doctor you feel more comfortable with. I'll stick with Dr. Lyons.

The doctor doesn't care; the staff doesn't care. Leave a voice message and no one calls you back. Get a human on the line? They tartly tell you to leave a message and the other person will call back. An entire week and no one called me back or called my pharmacy (who also contacted them multiple times).
This was the last straw to add on to the doctor not remembering me (You have an electronic filing system and it's not noted down whether or not you've seen me before? I'm not expecting a parade; that's the basics of patient history.), giving a referral to the craziest podiatrist I've ever met (Lyon didn't seem to care when told), and receiving my blood work results but not seeing fit to call and let me know. Had to wait an hour to see the doctor, but expected that.

Mary, I'd give you a call, but I'd just be directed to leave a voicemail. If you can't keep up, you need to cap your patients.
