Terrible. Always, always late over an hour at least. Prescribed meds I didn't need and after a few months, he said a drug test came back positive for a different pain med (which I never heard of or took in my life) and he couldn't see me any longer because I failed the test. He is a liar and uses his patients to make money and that's it!

I went there for my first time today and I will never go back. It was the worst experience in my entire life. The medicine he gave me made me ****all over the place and.sick and he sent me home with it. I was talked down upon cause I had tattoos. He made very unprofessional comments about my tattoos and my religion. I am muslim and he asked me dont women get killed for being like you in your country. I have never felt more uncomfortable with a doctor and put down like I didnt with him. Not to mention my husband and 6 month old chd came with me. I waited over a hour and a half to see him and my appt time was at 930 I was there til almost 5pm. I would never rrecommend this doctor to anyone or go back. I havr never ever felt so humilated. Very.unprofessional and does not care about his patients.

Then my pain got worse and requested a parking permit. He wanted to charge me $20 just to sign a paper and write one script on top of my copay! He also kept pushing for nerve blocks when the last one he didn't help at all was a waste of $600. Insurance will only cover one location per hospital visit. Which means $300 per visit about 8+ visits a month for the rest of the year since the deductible has been meet. That is just not possible. If it could be done it two shots maybe okay but that it even pushing it. I would rather take the risk on the drugs then pay out $600 a month for injections. The injections cost more than scopes, lung biopsies and other test I have done. The next major issue is that Dr. Melvin Hu is always late. I always wait between 1 hour to 3 hours. I can understand why when he is trying find anything he can to generate income from. If you don't mind the long wait and him extorting you every chance he can. I wish you luck with him.

Dr.Hu does not care about diagnosis. He injected my shoulder numerous times after I told him I fell on the concrete on my shoulder and he refused to do X-Ray or MRI. Told him I fell. He kept saying it is Bursitis. Months later I had another Dr. do MRI and I have a complete tear in my rotator cuff and need major surgery. It will take 8 months to be right again. Surgery than months of Physical Therapy. My back is also way worse than when he started injection it!!!! Don't go to him!!!!

This doctor is only interested in making money... He will only see you as long as he can treat you for something that he can charge you loads of money for. If it's just a visit for meds, you may see him for 3 or 4 times but you will soon be pressured for expensive procedures, be it some type of injections or minor/major surgeries. He's very difficult to understand and seems to use this to confuse patients, at least it was in my case, because i found myself too embarrassed to ask him to repeat something in EVERY single sentence. I left his office after i had told him that about 3 months earlier i had received botox injections in my head/neck from one my previous doctor, and Dr. Hu wanted to inject those same sites with lidocaine... When I told him the botox was supposed to last for at least 6 months, he said that the lidocaine was for "different nerves". Sounded like he was fishing for procedures to me. If you see him, at least you know him m.o.

Dr. Hu has been so great with my lower back pain. He has continued to do injection treatments of all kinds on my back at the surgery center and he has not given up on my pain caused from degenerative disc disease. When I have a procedure he makes sure I don't feel a thing as I am put to sleep. It is finally starting to pay off and I'm starting to feel better. He is very professional and takes his time with my appointment. He is a little hard to understand with his accent but he doesn't mind repeating if you ask. I highly recommend Dr. Hu if you need pain relief. I trust him 100%.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. He could barely speak English, talked about his political views, and stared at my breasts the ENTIRE time. When I came back for "follow up" he didn't ask me how the medicine worked or how I was feeling since the last time I was there. Instead he asked me why I brought my son (6month old baby) and why my husband wasn't watching him. I asked him to look at my face when talking to me. I let him know he was making me uncomfortable looking at my breasts. He said "they are close to your face" and CONTINUED to stare! He is a SICK man!

I have seen more than 5 pain doctors, including a least 2 neurosurgeons and Dr. Hu has been the only dr. that has truly tried to help me without telling me (like the others did) that I will just have to live with the pain. Even though I am not pain free, He continues to give me some relief. I would recommend him.

Dr. Hu likes to play games with his patients, such as scheduling you for a very painful emg of your legs or arms. When he says it's time you see Dr. Mech, don't fall for it. Dr. Mech nearly killed me. Dr. Hu is not a good doctor at all. I don't recommend him for anything. When you see this doctor at your hospital bed, or have been referred, just say "no thanks".
