I am not surprised at the number of positive reviews that Dr. Herndon has accumulated on this website. I was Dr. Herndon's patient for about 8 years, and she is the best doctor I have ever known. I trust her more than any doctor I have ever met. I always felt like she genuinely cared about my well-being, and truly sought out the best care possible for me. I have since moved away to another state, but often wish I was still under her care. One thing I noticed about her, is that she remembered me and had ongoing knowledge of my medical history even though it was sometimes months between visits. It made you feel special, and like she cared. Many doctors act like they haven't even read the notes they took on you before,, but Dr. Herndon was so much better than that. I wish her well in whatever life has ahead for her.

Dr Herndon was my Dr. for over fifteen years. She was the most caring Dr. I had ever been to. It was because of her I was under a Dr'.s care all these years. As I have Dr. phobia but when I met her she never made me feel uncomfortable. I felt like I was a person to her. Not just a patient. So I continued to see her for my health care needs. With her, there was no fear, phobia or anxiety. As the other reviews say. She is everything good that was said and even more. The only complaint I have is not really with her. But her former place of employment. When she no longer was a Dr. with Iowa Clinic They did not give her patients any advance notice that she was going elsewhere. So my complaint is not with Dr. Herndon, but Iowa clinic. It was very traumatic to have to try and find a Dr. that would even come close to being as special as she was. But I finely did find one. Her name is Dr. Melissa Thompson and she is also with Iowa Clinic. She is as close to being like Dr. Herndon as one can get and it not be Dr. Herndon. I am so glad to know where she is and that she is still a Dr. Anybody who would become her patient would not have to worry about if they chose the right Dr. You would have made the best choice you ever made when it came to picking a Dr. If I could afford it I would be willing to drive from DesMoines to Clinton just to continue being her patient!!!! But that isn't practical due to finances. The only other issue is all these websites need to update that she is in Clinton now and is no longer in DesMoines. Dr. Herndon if you ever read this everyone back here in the DesMetro miss you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes, many of your former patients when we talk to someone and when the conversation turns to health care and we mention (meaning any one of us not just me) Dr. Herndon was my Dr. You would not believe how we all go on about how special you are and how we miss you.. My problem with Dr. Herndon is that she fails to reassure my elderly mother. She tends to jump on the worst possibility and emphasize that worst case scenario before the facts are gathered. She is a very pleasant person, but uses "fear" as an attempt to motivate treatment. Like may other doctors today, has a tendency to push for multiple specialists.

I was a patient of Dr. Herndon's from 2004 thru mid 2012. She was always kind, caring, and never in a hurry. She always made me feel heard and she was very compassionate and thorough. She also never hesitated to send me to a specialist if need be. She was one of the BEST doctors I've ever had. I moved away from the Midwest and the one thing I miss the most is Dr. Herndon. They just don't make them like this one very often! She was always professional, polite, open-minded (not stuck in the box) and best of all she never made me feel like a number. If you're looking for a great doctor who will really listen to you and try to help, this is the one to see!

Love Dr. Herndon. I've been a patient for years, and she's everything you'd want a physician to be -- skilled and caring. She's a real person who struggles with the issues we all struggle with -- weight, exercise, work-life balance, etc. -- which makes her extremely relatable. She's not always easy to get into because she's so popular, and her nursing staff isn't always top-notch. But I've never seen a better physician, and I'm lucky to be one of her patients.

I am lucky to have her as my Doctor. She cares about every paitient. She will make sure the hospital is providing the approriate care. She will send you to a specialist if need be.

She is the best psychian a person could have. My grandma had her for a long time till she passed away and my mom has also had her for a long time now I go and see her. She is a great and awesome doctor and really cares bout her patients.
