Dr. Young saved my life. I had an ectopic pregnancy and he rearranged his schedule to perform the emergency surgery. I was very impressed with his knowledge and the time that he took with my husband and I to explain the procedures and the pros and cons. Great doctor! His nurses could be better. I have had two appointments since the surgery and both times the nurses forgot to come and take my blood or give me a shot after I had met with the doctor. I had to go out and find them after a lengthy wait. But Dr. Young is well worth it.

He was the first doctor to find the pain caused by a tumor in my lower abdomen. I had been to several doctors before I found him. He was careful and thoughtful as to what was causing it and did an ultra sound during that same visit... not like most doctors now days. He is great! I had a doctor just before I met Dr. Young who found a mass but said to not worry about it... CRAZY! Dr. Young did all he could to figure out what it was and to get rid of it. THANK YOU Dr. Young!!!

I love Central Utah clinic and my regular Doc, Dr. Parker, but it was almost laughable that he happened to be a brother my Dentists in Young Family dental, since I have been so frustrated with them, too. The first time I saw him I was at 33 weeks, and having major contractions. I called Dr. Parker and he put me on bed rest. When I went in and had to meet with Doctor Young, he made me feel like an over-concerned idiot. As soon as he checked my cervix, he started explaining to me what Braxton-Hicks contractions were and that a lot of time first-time mothers tend to think that the pain is more than it should be. Then, when I hadn't felt my baby move in 12 hours (and two nurses told me I should have called much sooner) he told me again that I was worrying too much as a first-time mom and to next time wait it out before I get checked. Heaven forbid I take his time, next time I will call him when I want to take the guy out to ice cream. Very demeaning and not understanding of patients.

I was not pleased with Dr Young. I always spent at least an hour in the waiting room and then another 1/2 hour in the exam room waiting. Staff was nice. However Young never reviewed my chart before talking with me, I had to remind him of all that was written in my chart. He let me go almost two weeks over my due date, then induced me. Then he waited 2 days to decide that I wasn't going to get to a 10, and that I needed a C section. I had serious complications after the surgery, I couldn't walk. I spent a month and a half in rehab learning how to walk again. He didn't seem concerned at all. Not saying that he caused my disability, but he sure didn't seem to care. Needless to say I am about to deliever my second baby, and I sure won't be delievering with him. (or the same hospital) I just have to say no matter what dr you decide to go with, just know that you are paying for their services, so use them, make sure you know what is going on at all times and that you feel comfortable

With hyperemesis and pre-eclampsia with both of my pregnancies, Dr. Young did a wonderful job of making sure I got the best treatment possible. Heather (gone now) is AMAZING and I loved her. As for other comments about him talking about his day/guessing baby weight - I feel he's trying to put his patients at ease by not acting like there's major trauma or problems ahead. He's wonderful. The wait time can be long, but I felt he was worth the wait.

I loved Dr. Young and am sad that I am no longer in Utah to use him for my next pregnancy! He definitely knows his stuff and is willing to spend as much time with you as needed to answer any questions or concerns. I had a lot of problems during my pregnancy, and he did not hesitate to do ultrasounds and tests often to make sure things were okay. I ended up having a c-section, which he preformed, and I healed perfectly without any problems. When doing the c-section he noticed that I had a septum in my uterus... a month later I had to have my gal bladder removed... when I told him that I was going to have surgery for that, he offered to go to the hospital and while they were preforming the surgery. He was able to take a glance at my uterus to make sure it was actually a septum and not a heart shaped uterus. I was so impressed that he did that on his own time (at 5 in the morning!) so that I could know. I couldn't have asked for a better, more knowledgeable, or more caring doctor!

Very midwife, doula and homebirth unfriendly. I was a homerbith transfer and he never once introduced himself, was very discourteous to my husband, my midwife and myself, and unwilling to explain the procedures he was insisting on beyond "if you don't do this, it will be an automatic c-section." When my son reacted badly to the epidural and I ended up actually needing a c-section, he actually took bets about the size of my baby while he was cutting me open. His vote was 11 lbs (my son was 7 lbs 12 oz, by the way). Afterwards, I never saw him again until I was discharged five days later. I wrote a letter of complaint to the hospital but nothing ever came up from it. I feel quite robbed by his treatment of me and my family.

Dr. Young has delivered my last two babies. He has handled emergency situations calmly and with respect when I was worried and concerned. I was in a car accident which put one of my babies at risk and he was very cautious and conservative in his treatments for me. He has performed a couple surgeries on me as well and has taken the time to go over every treatment option, the risks and benefits of those options, and then he lets me decide. He has also treated some other issues of mine that other doctors shrug off. I have always been able to reach him or Heather when I have needed them (although I don't like always having to leave a message with their staff). The staff are always polite and understanding. I do think they should be clear when they say "he will be right in" because that should not equate to another 45 minute wait time in the room. I have been in that office for 3 hours or more and I would like it if the nurses would give more accurate time estimates when possible.

Dr. Young is a very knowledgeable dr. I feel he is very thorough. But I agree I don't feel like he remembers things from appointment to appointment. The waits have been long, but I don't mind that part. He was much more concerned and caring about my m/c's than my old ob.

Dr. Young sends all of his patients who might have a little spotting or cramping to the ER. He doesn't try to address these issues in his office. So then you are stuck with a huge co payment for the ER. You can order out patient labs and ultrasounds for these kinds of things but instead it's "go to the ER" seems like he pawns everything off to the ER.
