I have had Dr. Michal Kantoch as my cardiologist, from childhood until adulthood for 20+ years. He began seeing me when I was a 9-12 years child in the 1990s at the Stollery Children's Hospital. I was born in the 1980s, with a heart complication and I had Dr. Collins Nikai as my initial cardiac surgeon and Dr. Duggan, as well. I appreciated Dr. Michal Kantoch and his entire Nursing staff. Over the years, I got to know him well. When I was 14-24, I felt Dr. Kantoch was very attentive to my physical and emotional needs. He was kind and well spoken. His words were appreciated during difficult times and during the the passing of a a family member. Today, I see a 2 new cardiologists, whom are not as personable and not similar in mannerisms to Dr. Kantoch. His cultural background and upbringing made him more understanding. He is kind and helpful in many ways. I wish he could continue to see adult patients through their life. I appreciate knowing him as a doctor and as a human being. Today, I saw him briefly as I was walking through the U of A Hospital. It felt somewhat nostalgic. He is very attentive and friendly. If you are reading this, thank you Dr. Michal Kantoch for being my cardiologist for over 20+ years. From your former patient, ~(S.K)

I was told that he would rather have my baby gagging than put her back on a medication that was taken off by mistake. She had been on this medication since she was a months old, so 4.5 months. This has lead to massive eating problems with her that after a week still haven’t resolved. Absolutely disgusting as a doctor

Dr.Kantoch has been my 9 month old daughter's cardiologist for a few weeks now, after she was diagnosed with a heart condition just a couple of days before Christmas.. we have had quite a few appointments in a short amount of time! And Dr.Kantoch has made the whole process less scary for us. He is kind, patient and knowledgeable. The nurses have also been fantastic!

I can not put into words how unhappy I am with this doctor. He is my daughters pediatric cardiologist, she has a heart condition that will require surgery before she's a year old. She is a low risk surgery. Dr. Kantoch has the worst bedside manner of any doctor I've been to. Before he jnformed us of her condition, he began going into detail on the surgery she will require. He had not even explained that something was wrong with her.

Then, recently, he failed to inform the surgeon of her case. He was supposed to discuss my daughters case with the surgeon, to decide when to book her surgery. This meeting between them was supposed to be a month ago. We hadn't heard anything back, so my wife reached out to the surgery coordinator to find out what the next step was. Dr. Kantoch had not even mentioned her, because he made the decision (without discussing with us) that she was so low risk, she didn't need her surgery until she was 9-10 months old. The surgery coordinator called us back and informed us that no, she will still need surgery at 6-7 months, she will get that booked asap. My daughter is 6 months old now, she should be having the surgery right now, and instead, she is going to have to wait another 4-6 weeks because this doctor didn't discuss her case with the surgeon.

I will be looking for another cardiologist. I suggest you do the same

Dr Kantoch is genuine, friendly, and caring. He makes our daughter feel very comfortable, and she even wants to be a "heart doctor" when she grows up and be like him! He will answer any questions and never makes you feel like a number on a list.

We have had Dr. Kantoc as our daughters cardiologist and we find him very knowledgeable. Plus we have had many hospital stays and he does try to lighten things up with a sense of humor when things are stressful. I appreciate him and his staff very much :)
