Somewhere along the way I think he lost any bedside manner he may have had. He saunters in to the visit as if he is exhausted from a long day of playing competitive sports. Within about 30-45 seconds he departs. You know no more about your condition, progress, or prognosis than before he entered the room. Perhaps he is worn out from his years on the job, but if that is his truth, he should seek greener pastures. I am very disappointed in my experiences with Dr. Shapiro, which is unfortunate as I really wanted to respect and like him as a doctor and a person.

I should of read the comments before I went to see Dr Shapiro. No bedside manner. I was treated like a number. In and out. No help at all. I showed him that my hand turns colors(blue) he told me he didn't see any difference from my other hand. Treated me as if I was crazy. He. must be colorblind. The medical assistant wasn't any better. Practically threw me my papers to ck out with out explanation. Strongly do not recommend. I was so upset almost walked out

Dr. Shapiro is an outstanding surgeon. He has an excellent bedside manner. I was terrified about what was wrong with my teenage son. He scheduled the surgery quickly. The surgery was fast. He came out and talked to me and explained to me himself what he found and that my son will be fine. I will recommend Dr. Shapiro to anyone needing an Orthopedic Surgeon. He truly is THE VERY BEST!!

After being jerked around, never called back, being treated like an idiot and in constant pain for months, Dr. Shapiro diagnosed me with extreme arthritis and said "you must be constant pain". Then proceeded to tell me "not much you can do, take ibuprofen" and walked out of the room. I've never met such a cold and careless doctor in my life. This man should be a sentence for prisoners. Don't even think about going to this guy unless you want no help or answers, beyond rude staff and as little amount of face time as he could muster. He clearly doesn't care about his patients and has better things to do then help you. Absolute terrible doctor and worse person.

I was late for my appointment. This was due to the fact that I wrote done the wrong time. When I got to the front desk and was informed of this I told them I was happy to reschedule. However, the front desk consulted with Dr. Shapiro's MA and they worked me in. I wish the hadn't. Dr.Shapiro came in the room. He didn't even ask me what was wrong, didn't seem to care that I've been in pain for several months. He jusr had me left my arms this way & that. Then he ordered a shoulder xray. After which be magically diagnosed bursitis. He gave me a steroid injection in the should. He was very rough. His bedside manner is horrible. My shoulder is still hurting me. I can hardly use my arm. Don't go to this doctor. He's heartless!!!

Dr Shapiro did surgery on my wrist and shoulder. The wrist procedure went find. The ORIF procedure on my shoulder was not successful. My bones were not in the right position when the hardware was put in and now I will need additional surgery by another Dr to remove the hardware in hopes of regaining range of motion that is restricted as a result of the surgery he performed.

Dr. Shapiro has performed several surgeries of different types on both of my hands. He was not quick to operate but gave me plenty of time to decide that's what I wanted. Each one was very successful, even the last one, which was quite involved. His knowledge and competence I consider to be excellent. I also have great respect for his nurse practitioner. I would recommend him, and have recommended him, to anyone considering hand surgery.

Excellent hand surgeon. He has done 3 surgeries on my hands and I have nothing but good things to say about the results.
