Worest surgeon ever. I had a hip replacement done with him and my hip still hurts. Many have said this but I never believed it until now, he has his assistant do his hip replacements. Then when the assistant messes it up he just blames it on you being limber. To top it off he doesn't want to see you either he has some assistant see you. I'm going to get a second opinion.

Horrible experience. Got pushed onto an assistant who has no clue as to what he is doing. I really thought Dr. Cornell had better judgement when he hired assistants.

Outstanding surgeon! I was always scared of having my knees replaced, but after undergoing 1 knee replacement I realized I was scared for nothing! I would recommend anyone to go to him! The only bad thing about him is his rude staff, I'm just glad I don't have to deal with them anymore.

I have been seeing Dr. Cornell for a symbols shot for a while and recently I made the mistake of agreeing to get the shot from his PA Brian....boy did it hurt...I really don't thing he knows what he is doing. I am
From now on only going to have Dr. Cornell give me the shot! If I am offered a visit by his PA again, as oppose to waiting for dr. Cornell, I would wait for dr. Cornell.

Great doctor, but he needs a new staff. I had two knee replacements with him. His secretaries are horrible to deal with and simply yell at you if they can not help you. He really does need to invest in a new staff and then he will be a perfect doctor, as the office staff only reflects what the doctor's personality is like. He has a new PA working with him, who is nice, but that's about it. Don't let the PA fool you, he spends more time with you then the doctor and it makes you wonder did you pay for a PA or a doctor to treat you? PA is definitely not helpful, I would recommend you ask for Dr. Cornell any chance you get and if his staff can not get you to him, well then you should find a new doctor, as you don't want to go through a surgery and not be able to speak or be treated by the man that did your surgery. Ask for Dr. Cornell every chance you get or find a new surgeon with a polite office staff.

Had a total hip replacement and hip dislocated on operating table. It dislocated 3 more times within a year and a half period before it was fixed. It set me back psychologically as I was so fearful of having the hip dislocate whenever I moved, I was frozen into not doing anything. Dr. Cornell's explanation - I was too limber for the joint they used and the 2nd time it was done, another type was used. I just (7/2/13) had my left hip replaced at another facility (in NJ) and I can truly say the two experiences were as different as night and day. At HSS I felt like I was in a limb replacement factory and Dr. Cornell was in and out of my room within 2 minutes after visiting each day. He's a nice person, however don't confuse that with knowledge or surgical skills. I actually think my surgeries were performed by a resident. I was left in limbo for 2 years with this hip either dislocating or in pain. I would definitely not recommend Dr. Cornell or the Hospital for Special Surgery.

He i a great Dr. Had total hip replacement on both hips, and then a revision. He did what other Doctors couldn't, because of my Hip dysplasia from birth and now I am 45. Very satisfy with my surgery. I would recomend him 100%!

Not helpful. Makes up reasons for pain 6 week post operatively and accuses you of exaggerating pain. Did not fully explain risks of a TKR including that my pain could be worse post operative and that I would have less range of motion than I did preoperative. Told me I could go back to work after 2 weeks; it has been over six months and I am worse than I was preoperatively in terms of mobility and pain. Second opinion told me that I needed different type of knee replacement. I would not recommend him as I do not think he fully explains risks to you and when you complain, he thinks you are just a complainer despite history. He is not a genuine caring person. I would not recommend him.

This surgeon is professional, personable, compassionate, efficient, and responsive. The entire hip replacement experience was better than I could have expected and the outcome was excellent. For these reasons I have scheduled a total knee replacement by him with complete confidence.
