Beware of the $50 out-of-pocket charge for allergy testing. This service should be included in the fee he's being reimbursed paid by MSP and most extended insurance will not cover this added charge. Don't let him gaslight you and say it's a necessary fee.

Only allergy serums approved by Health Canada and listed on their website with valid DINs may qualify for extended medical insurance. The negative reviews are spot-on.

Tip: ask for the billing codes from his MOA and call MSP before your office visit. No other legitimate allergist in BC charges an out-of-pocket fee to MSP [insured] patients, aside from optional therapeutic serums (not to be confused with serum testing). Serum testing and consultation fees are already paid to the physician through the MSP billing system.

If I could rate less than 1 star I would!
I highly regret not reading the reviews before going because those were accurate.
This is a very grumpy and rude doctor! I was highly disappointed with his behaviour. Specially having to wait a lot of time to get an appointment, I was aiming for a better service.
I felt the consultation had a very disrespectful environment, and when I asked why I was receiving such a bad attitude on his end, he replied with a “whatever”. Very unprofessional, did not feel he was concerned about my wellbeing at all.
Seriously if you can avoid going there, do so.

I have seen a few doctors and Dr Luciuk was the only one who could solve my allergy problems. The allergic testing was efficient and I stayed for an hour. (I was told to expect 1-1.5 hours)

Forms, instructions, reminders were provided by email and phone. Staff was helpful and prompt to answer phone calls.

An experienced doctor that can solve medical issues; he is to the point and does not do small talks. He welcomes follow up questions by setting up separate phone appointments.

This doctor should not be seeing children. We were referred to him when my son was not even 1 year old in 2022 and after waiting for the appointment were told during the confirmation call a few days beforehand that all patients were expected to wear masks or face coverings, even babies. I said they don't even make masks small enough for my son and was told I would be expected to cover his nose and mouth with a blanket or cloth while the doctor was in the room. This is actually very dangerous because children that young have extremely small airways, it also went against every guideline put out during COVID measures. When I questioned the policy I was told that the doctor is not young and needs to be extra careful about COVID, which is fair enough but he should not have been accepting patients under 2 then.

I was afraid of the reviews and expected the worst, but I found that he's a decent doctor. Dr. Luciuk talks fast and gets straight to the point/answers any questions. They emailed info and forms to fill out beforehand so that you can read up on allergy shots and common allergens. The receptionist is straight-forward and busy, so don't expect a lively/loving person to greet you. They do charge a $50 testing fee for everyone.

This was a number of years ago but I was told to allow 3 hours for testing. I booked off of work. The nurse did the testing, went through the results and then the Dr came in for literally 2 minutes. 3 hours? Between the two of them 7 minutes. Told me to avoid chicken and celery ... two of the few things I actually CAN eat without issue. Now my husband waited 4 months to get in to see an allergist and this is where he was sent. If he takes time off work, he doesn't get paid so if this is a waste of his time, it will not be pleasant.

He has zero beside manner. He's grumpy and absolutely unpleasant. Smart yes but just miserable to be around.

Dr Lukiuk is the most knowledgeable allergist in the Lower Mainland. He certainly isn't sunny but is the best.

I had a severe allergy to grass at my farm on Van Island and it has now disappeared thanks to Dr. Luciuk and staff. I could not be more impressed. I was under the assumption that I would have to sell my property. Very impressed indeed.
