Wonderful physician--until you have a serious medical problem. I like to give Dr. Updegraff the benefit of the doubt and say that the lack of responsiveness, poor communication outside the office and incompetent office staff are issues more related to South Coast Medical Group (run from this group). However, there were instances when the doctor could have communicated better and more promptly in an acute medical situation. And the coordination of care with physician specialists outside the practice was almost nonexistent. Dr. Updegraff has great credentials and a winning personality. But she chooses to practice with South Coast.

I am 65 years old in all those years have trusted only 3 physicians in my life. Dr Kristen Updegraff is top on that list. She as taken care of us from the preventive level up to and including life threatening conditions. Because of her we are here to brag about her, her nurses and the compassionate, thorough care she provides. Go see her and find out!! That way you will live to write your own reveiw and I'll bet you dollars to donuts you will agree with us!!!!!!

I am a registered nurse and am quite picky about seeing Dr.'s and want only the very best as I have seen my share of both the good and the bad plus the very bad! Well Dr. Updegraff is the ONE! She is real, she is funny, she listens 100%, she is caring and very thorough, she is smart and compassionate and I am so happy to have found her! Do not hesitate to see this MD, you will be very happy you did!

Refuses to treat unless you can pay for excessive tests for common sense everyday problems. Part of the problem with today's healthcare system falling apart.

One in a million doctor! Don't know of many doctors who will treat a patient like a person, and not just another on the list.

I agree. My first visits were wonderful. I could not believe I had found such a great, caring PCP. Then, when I really needed My Doctor following stroke symptoms -at the age of 41, she was less than helpful/knowledgable.

Dr. Updegraff is very personable. She has always taken time to listen meand she makes me feel that I am important to her. She has even called me at home to personally report test results.

She is very nice and takes the time to listen to you and discuss with you. She is very understanding and seems to care about her patients! I have recommended several people to her.
