I had a lot of anxiety around this appointment. But Dr. Emes created such a comfortable and supportive environment. The appointment was a very positive experience. After decades of wondering about my quirks, it was validating to have things explained and be given tools to suceed.

I was referred by my Dr to see Dr Craig Emes for possible adhd diagnoses. Being a 30+ year old woman who was more lost than ever, Dr Craig helped me with the realization that it's something I've struggled and coped with on my own, with my life. He was compassionate, helpful and highly educated in the field. He helped me set up a treatment plan that I can continue with, with my family Dr. I am sad to hear he's leaving for awhile but do hope he is able to return and help others.

Thank you Dr Craig Emes

Just finished my ADD assessment with Dr. Emes... mixed feelings. He did a good job, on time, knew his stuff, answered all my questions... very pleased with his service... but I learnt that I don't have ADHD. Kinda thought I did, but he explained to me why I didn't. Like the the other person who rated him... I didn't have my report cards, but he explained to me why just because I think I have ADHD doesn't mean I do. I found him kind, patient and willing to answer all my questions. He even told me what i can do to help with my problems even if dont have ADD. I highly recommend this doctor for a ADHD assessment, he knows his stuff.

IF HE REFUSED TO DIAGNOSE YOU GET A SECOND OPINION!!

Refused to consider my current symptoms as my report cards did not demonstrate early attention issues. He was dismissive and condescending. That was two years ago, in which time I dropped out of university due to my struggling to keep on top of my school work. Finally spoke to a compassionate psychiatrist who agreed to give me a trial run of ritalin. The change in my ability to function is marked.

I would NOT trust this guy to assess your issues. He clearly caters exclusively to those with specific documentation. IF HE DENIED YOU A DIAGNOSIS, ASK YOUR DR FOR A SECOND OPINION

Dr. Emes is the best! He was super helpful and gave me an accurate diagnosis and answered all my questions very well. He is very good at redirecting the conversion when my ADHD brain takes a detour without making me feel stupid. I felt like he really cared. I usually feel very anxious with doctors but he said the right things to put me at ease. I really liked how he didn’t make me repeat everything that I spent so long articulating on the questionnaire. It was obvious that he spent time with my answers and already knew the diagnosis before our appointment but also took some time to ask me some extra questions after he put me at ease about my ADHD diagnosis. It was very well done. I will always be grateful that I found him for this very important step in my life . I just wish I found him sooner.

Staff: small speciality office so this is not applicable
Punctuality: appointments were on time, even though currently remote, and time frames were stuck too. followups were scheduled very easily and quickly when required.

Helpfulness: ADHD assessment, resources provided during and after assessment were very useful and based in modern science methods unlike some other outdated resources.

Knowledge: at points felt a bit rushed , but on questions for further explanations, resources or general questions all answers were very good and helpful. He clearly is a expert in the field for the Victoria area.

General: I would recommend getting a referral to this doctor if you suspect you have difficulties with ADHD or you would like to confirm diagnosis from other clinics in the area that seem to be following a diagnosis book from the 90's.

dr. emes was late for both appointments. both were no more than 15 min. both times he was distracted and kept checking on his phone that went off multiple times. He never attempted to see things from my perspective and instead told me that he thinks i probably have adhd but he cannot diagnose due to lack of evidence. this was not bad news to me however, he did not explain to me why so i was having difficulty understanding. in conclusion, he told me that there was definitely something wrong but he couldnt diagnose it. he did not offer any other solution or explanation to me. instead he said to try again and hope that someone else can more accurately diagnose me. this doctor lacks compassion and attentiveness towards his patients. would not recommend.

Homie Dr. Craig! Say what you want about him but he is a specialist in his field. Medical treatment - especially mental health - needs to be self powered AND medically guided. Bridging the gaps of understanding in ones mind is a powerfull tool that Craig utilizes. It's not all about drugs, but being mindful of exactly what is happening and what makes the clock tick. I was clear with him that I wanted the gentle feelings approach left at home because I believe in science over a school children approach. Coupled with the fact theres A DOG TO PET (unsure of Mr. Muggles professional education though), no awkard assistant in the front, and low-key approach is very relaxing. Theres no notepad scribbling, rushed appointments, or any issues with professionalism or punctionality. Anyone with adhd, anxiety, or depression would benefit his care. - B
