Very patient, respectful, caring Dr. Never felt my appointment was rushed, even though he must be very busy and work long hours. Explained to me in detail the potential options and took into account what I preferred. Provided a solution when I was concerned about the surgery date / time. I am a medical professional who has been under the care of Dr Iu for a few years. I can say, in my professional opinion, Dr Iu is technically superior with exemplary bedside manners that I have adopted in dealing with my patients. He is a role model to students and practitioners!
He is an absolute gem!! When he retires it would be a great loss for Toronto.

Dr. Simon Iu was amazing, he explained my lung surgery in detail , he and his team did what he had explained to me . he was compassionate he did come to see me the day after my surgery as a follow up . Dr. Iu is an amazing doctor who had me out of surgery and recovered after 2 weeks . In his post OP appointment he re- explained the procedure and what to do in the future . Dr Iu has extended my life and i thank him and his staff for his fantastic work

I found him to be cold, unhelpful, and uncompassionate. He said different things in different appointments about the surgery procedure which was confusing. He didn't check on me after my surgery was done in the hospital. I know it was a day surgery but I saw other doctors at least came to talk to their patients and let them know that everything was fine. After the surgery I had a follow up appointment at his office and it only lasted 5 mins, and it showed that he is really not interested in any after care. I just don't think his bedside manner is good. NOTE: When you googled him, his clinic address was an old one which he has moved for a couple of years. Change your own clinic address on Google!

I took my mom for her first visit (consultation) with Dr. Iu. He showed kindness and empathy towards Mom. He listened and was very thorough. He made suggestions for various tests. Within days, the hospital scheduled Mom for the required tests. We were impressed on how Dr. Iu handled Mom’s situation. Thank you so much, Dr. Iu.

Having doctor Iu as a doctor has been one of the most stressful experiences of my life. The only good thing about his office, is the incredibly kind secretary.
Dr Iu showed no kindness, no compassion and masked his cold interior by explaining things slowly. Here are some verbatim conversations:
I once asked what symptoms I should be on alert for and he replied « yes you should be alarmed ». Not what I asked and who says that to a nervous patient? I has palpitations for 2 days.
I expressed that I was feeling helpless with my situation and he replied « you are looking for a quick fix » and proceed to offer no alternative.
When I said I wasn’t feeling well after waiting for his call for a month, he said I could always go to emergency. I said « I spent months back dans forth in the emergency room, my case is clearly complicated enough if I have a specialist, they won’t know what to do » he replied « they have enough information to help you ». This man has never had to wait in the emergency.
Once I called and said I had trouble breathing before I even finished my sentence to explain my symptoms, he interrupted and said he was going to send me for X treatment without hearing a word of it. (Which was completely useless and wasted the time of the hospital staff)
And be ready to wait over a month to for a PHONE call, even if you’re feeling really unwell.

While Dr. Simon Iu is professional and effective, his office staff is the polar opposite. The lady in charge of scheduling and organizing appointments is inconsistent, unreliable and irresponsible. I've had appointments made in well in advance, only to have them be changed WITHOUT WARNING and be blindsided to shut doors. Even with explicit references to our phone conversation making the phone appointment, the staff refused to acknowledge nor accept any responsibility on her part. In addition, the office staff failed to provide accurate information of venue after the first blunder for the follow up appointment. Furthermore, this same office staff ALSO claimed that the in-person appointment was supposed to be a phone discussion after it was agreed upon that it was scheduled to be an in-person appointment. Did I mention that this staff REFUSED to send any documentation of appointments over e-mail even after agreeing to do so? Dr. Simon Iu's care is gentle, professional and excellent, but it is blatantly clear that his choices in hiring could use a bit more precision.

Doctor Iu recently operated on my husband’s pneumothorax ( collapsed lung). He did an amazing job. He was available for questions both before and after surgery and was able to put our fears at ease. He is knowledgeable, compassionate and highly skilled. I would recommend this surgeon to anyone I know. Thank you Dr. Iu!!!!

Dr. Iu is definitely a good and reliable surgeon. I have had gallbladder issue and has to have it removed, he was very patient and gave me very good comfort before I entered the surgery. I was especially nervous because this is my first ever in my lifetime...surgery.

At the end, the surgery went smooth. He also did a good follow up with me after, I would definitely him to you if you need this type of surgery.

Just keep in mind his clinic's parking lot is pretty packed most of the time, and you may need to wait patiently for your time even if you come attend your appointment on time because he has many patients and emergency phone calls.
