My visit with Dr. Seth Finklestein in 2021 was one of the worst experiences I have had ever with a Specialists - and I have seen many specialists! I am a well educated woman whom, during a career change in my 30's, did my 2 years of clinical training at MGH located at 55 Fruit Street so I was accustomed to training and later working amongst extremely educated staff. I also was very well respected. I have a very debilitating complex medical condition that has challenged a great many Specialists. This medical history includes surviving multiple brain traumas - one of which I am the sole survivor of a brain trauma known to date. This specific brain injury took away my promising career and has left me permanently brain damaged and in isolation with no quality of life. Dr. Finkelstein was not prepared for the new patient consultation that I waited months for. His bedside manner was atrocious and someone in my condition whom should have been recognized for my courage was demoralized and was pretty much told I was hopeless and I was NOT allowed to speak and I was insulted in the course of a 30 minute new patient consultation that was supposed to be 60 minutes. I have been disabled for years since this life changing last brain insult and my life has had no meaning of late. Dr. Finkelstein has no experience in my case not wanted to research. I was horrified and was in tears. This Specialist, who knew nothing about me, had the audacity to suggest that my impairments could be related to a sexually transmitted disease! Shame on MGH for keeping this Specialist on Staff.
