Dr. Cain has taken wonderful care of both of my children their entire lives. She is very honest with the parents and will not prescribe medicine just to pacify us! Thank you! She is very professional and extremely compassionate. When you are with her, she is with you ...not trying to run to another room.

Dr. Cain was Elizabeth's doctor at the time she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She made sure we got to the right doctors when it was time for a second opinion. She stayed up all night personally treating Elizabeth in the hospital with pneumonia and then got her moved to Children's Mercy as soon as it was apparent that things were getting worse, not better. She even visited Elizabeth in the Rehab hospital when she was relearning to walk and swallow. She answered questions, held my hand, and was a shoulder to cry on. We love her.

Dr. Cain provides wonderful care and follow up. She's great with kids and teens, talking with them about their health - not just to their parents. We've left every appointment with our concerns and questions answered.

We appreciate Dr. Cain and all she has done for our grandchildren. We know they are in good hands, and Dr. Cain is available 24/7 -- not many people can say that about their pediatrician!

We decided to change from a Family Doctor to a Pediatrician for our two kids right after our second baby was born Dec. 2016. Our second child had her first "Well Child" check-up the week after she was born with Dr. Kathleen Cain (December 29th 2016). We received Dr. Cain's name from our Insurance Providers list of covered Pediatricians. For starters I was not asked for our insurance card from the front desk staff and was required to schedule our next appointment right then and there at the beginning. Weird. Next the medical assistant smelled like cigarettes and used a paper towel to write down answers to questions she was asking me about our baby. Dr. Cain then came in wearing sweat pants, and a sweat suit jacket, not scrubs or a nice outfit (again weird, she is a doctor right?). After asking her about ways that I could increase my milk production she told me that I must have a mental problem and that is what is causing me to not create enough milk for my baby. Not the fact that I had the same problem with my son and I have a few female issues that can hinder being able to fully breast feed my child. She also said that they would not accept us because we opted to not get the flu shot this year. We do have all of the other recommended vaccinations. She proceeded to only look my daughter over for a hot second. The rest of the time she talked to me as if I was uneducated and stupid. She then told us about going to her first funeral of a child that lost its life to the flu and about 50 other ways our child could die. If I did not already have a 2 1/2 year old, I would never sleep again. The thought of my child, or any child for that matter, dying felt incredibly uncalled for! I was not given any information regarding my baby's health (growth/progress report). Other than her heart sounded good and she is "a stout little thing". Instead I was handed paperwork on the flu and how it can kill. She was very unprofessional and so was the office environment we walked into. Need-less-to-say we will never be back. We cancelled the next appointment after giving our insurance info over the phone that very same day. Naturally a few weeks later, we received a bill for the full appointment cost. They did not submit into our insurance. I had to call them back and have them resend to insurance. I will never recommend this Doctor or office to anyone. I scheduled our baby's second "Well Child" checkup with Dr. Trabrizi with Stormont Vail (in the same vicinity). She is AMAZING and we will be staying with her! I only wish I wouldn't have WASTED our baby's first appointment with that woman!

Dr. Cain really takes the time to get to know her patients and their families. She is very personable. My kids have always felt comfortable there and I really appreciate that she talks to them too, not just to a parent. Also, we don't just get a diagnosis. She talks to her patients not just about symptoms, but about how they can live a safe and healthy lifestyle.
