This was the worst experience I ever had with a doctor (in the 5 minutes I spent with him). He tried to drag me down the hall to make me run to prove I was faking the symptoms. He said there was nothing wrong with me and walked out (ignoring the obvious problem on my MRI). I ended up seeing an expert on my condition and had brain surgery. Before I saw Dr. Gilman I was a bit curious as to why other doctors refer to him as "Sid Vicious", but I think I know now. What an arrogant, horrible person.

I had an appointment with Dr. Gilman at the U of M Hospital on 10-22-07. To my surprise he was only in the room with me for 5 to 7 minutes. The remaining 95 minutes that I was there I was examined by a resident Dr. The report sent to my primary care Dr.was falsely stating that Dr. Gilman conducted my exam and edited what the resident had in her report as he felt necessary. I find this extremely horrifying that he would cliam to know more about me and my condition in 5 minutes than the resident did in 90. He refused to look at my previous medical history (I brought over 900 pages from my other doctors that are treating my condtion with me) And Dr. Gilman even shunned what other U of M doctors had to say about me. This man is very arrognant and has no bedside manner at all. He cowardly waited to put his diagnois in a report for my primary care Dr to tell me, rather than he saying it himself. He also told me that more tests would be needed to properly diagnose me but refused to order them

Dr Gilman is the head of neurology at the U of M. I would love to know how and why he got this title. He saw my son for a total of five minutes max and said one thing to us then totally said another in his report to his primary care doctor. I found him to be extremely rude and as far as a bedside matter he had NONE! He should stick to writing books and doing research.......he may get along better with the rats then he does with his patients! It's one thing to see a patient and not agree with another physician; but, when you are saying that ten other doctors are wrong and you are right because you say so.......it doesn't work! I always thought falsly stating things was against the law. He must think he is ABOVE the law because afterall he IS Dr Sid Gilman!! I'd sooner see an uneducated polite doctor who is honest then to EVER see him again!!
