Dr. Long was very professional during the visits I had scheduled. I felt that he didn't rush the visits at all and took time to explain things to me. The staff was also very friendly and the wait time was reasonable. I would recommend Dr. Long .

This young man is very bright. He knows what he is doing. If he needs lab work or other tests to aid in diagnosis, Most can be done right in his office. Good advise. Even educates the patient. His primary objective is to make you well

All in all not a bad Doctor. He does care and seems to attend to problems well. My only complaint is he seems to rush you out the door, especially if you see him Friday afternoon.

I've seen this doctor twice in the past year, even though I had doubts about him during my 1st visit (not paying much attention, and i felt somewhat belittled). But because recently, I had an immediate health concern, I needed to get an an immediate appt, and the staff scheduled me for the next day! Otherwise, I would have waited 6-12+ wks for an appt at a new practice). This time he was much more attentive and didn't rush out. I appreciated this becasue I wasn't sure if my health concern was verging on hypochonria. But he assured me that it was smart to come in and that's what he's there for! Also, the staff is very nice there. I will go back to him in the future.

Dr. Long has been my primary care physician for almost 10 years. I called in recently to set up a follow-up appointment the office recommended. It was during this call I found out Dr. Long was no longer with the Lorton practice. I was told to "just pick another doctor in the practice". My doctor-patient relationship is very important to me. Apparently it's just a normal day in the medical world when a doctor walks away from his patients with no notification nor concern for their future care. This is the second time I have had a doctor just disappear - he was recommended by Dr. Long. I've left the Lorton Family Practice since they apparently had no concern for notifying Dr. Long's patients to make sure they had a name of a doctor to follow-up with and to ease the transition.

First off, let me say that Dr Long is very personable and easy to talk to. But other than that not much good to say here. I was charged in late 08 with a no show fee of $25, even though I was on time for my appt. 8 am, and it was 845 and i still wasn't taken in, I told them to cancel my appt. Lab work was done 1 week before sch. physical in May 09, and was charged a co-pay (full doc visit) which i found strange, received the physical, but the billing was incorrect and i ended up being charged $45 out of pocket in addition to my co-pay due to an incorrect coding by Dr Long. But the kicker is he ordered a Sonogram for me (in a sensitive male area) due to some pain and discomfort I was having in that area. I got this done at Inova healthplex a week or 2 later, and the tech said he would send the results to Dr Long. When I didn't hear anything from him, I called his office, they told me that I had to make an appt to hear the results. They tried to charge me a full dr appt 4 a non-issue!!

Dr. Long works in a very well organized practice which includes many doctors. I was unfortunate enough to get him as my primary physician. He is not very compassionate or understanding of individual situations and he does not listen to any explanations or suggestions. He has his way and no one else can have an opinion. He is rude and made me feel that I was stupid. I will never return to this practice or to him for any medical needs.
