I can't say enough good things about this doctor - I give him 10 stars!!! What a kind and caring human being - a rare find in a physician with his skill and credentials! My father-in-law was life flighted to the University hospital after being hit by a car - he was in the I.C.U. on life support until several family members were able to travel great distances to be by his side. Unfortunately the trauma of his injuries was too great to save him. Dr. Apfelbaum took 35-40 minutes out of his busy schedule to sit with the family and answer questions until everyone finally realized that this expert and caring person was telling us it was hopeless to continue treatment. No one wants to hear those words, but when spoken with eloquence and compassion, they are easier to process. Thank you so much for everything that you did Dr. Apfelbaum :))

I suffered for years and went to 10 doctors, dentists and even 2 neurologists before I found out what was causing such excruciating pain in my lower right jaw. A Dr. Nord in SL diagnosed it for me and put me on tegretol and while the pain would flare up some once in a great while, the tegretol worked quite well for nearly 20 years. Then it quite working and I suffered unbearable pain. I heard about Dr. Apfelbaum and went to see him. He and his staff literally saved my life by doing surgery. That has been about 8 years ago and I have been pain free ever since. I, too, LOVE this man!! He is so kind and compassionate and has a grandfatherly aura about him. Very comfortable to be with.

I had suffered from trigeminal neuralgia for 10 years before I saw him in 1980. It took a while before I was referred to him to figure out what was wrong with me and then put on Tegretol daily for the pain. He performed a posterior fosea cranectomy on my right side at Montefiore Hospital in NY. I was completely pain free for 10 years but little by little the pain has been coming back and now I have it on both sides. I wish he was here - he is the best! I have not found anyone like him but I am so thankful for all those wonderful pain-free years.

In 1992 I saw Dr. Apfelbaum for surgical management of trigeminal neuralgia, and the subsequent microvascular decompression has give me a pain-free life since then. I was living with pain-suppressing drugs that had left me unable to function normally, and feel blessed that I discovered his research online back in those early days of the internet as we know it. Many thanks to him and his team.

Dr. Apfelbaum saved my life, in 1994 I fell on my right frontal side of my skull on the cement, I had many hemotomas, its a wonder I am alive, I have less brain now but that is my fault for being a cluts. Because of the doctors great skill I am alive to tell my story. I think angels stand near this man. Thank you doctor Apfelbaum. Lewis

Absolutely the most confident, expert doctor my family has ever dealt with. My wife had a very large Pituitary Tumor 10 years ago which could have easily killed her. Apfelbaum is an absolutely amazing doctor. He performed the surgery in one afternoon, which gave my wife a second chance on life. My wife and I have had a child in the mean time; she has had zero complications from the surgery.

I saw this neurosurgeon briefly and he requested that I not be charged a fee. Who does that anymore? He is a very kind man who took the time to explain why I did not need to see him and how my neurologist could improve my next MRI. He is simply awesome.

I suffered with Trigeminal Neuralgia "The Suicide Disease" for 10years. I was told by a Neuroncologist that the problem was within my brain stem and going in there to eleviate the problem would cause my death. I tried Botox, Accupunture,Chiropractic medicine,my own doctor, of course, and two other Neurologist. Nothing helped and I was zoned on pain meds most of the time and admitted to the hospital for the pain twice. Finally my doctor called Dr. A for help and he got me right in. I saw him on a Friday, he did brain surgery on the next Monday. I have no deficits, no pain, no regrets and a brand new life off of drugs! I LOVE the man. He has given me a new lease on life. Life is wonderful once more! Oh yes, he is also personable and warm as is his senior staff member a wonderful, talented woman in her own right but I don't have her name.
