I have recommended Dr. Meehan to many friends. He should teach seminars or write a book on how he manages to deliver individualized, compassionate, knowledgeable and thorough care despite a medical-financial culture that pressures doctors to process patients in assembly-line fashion. He has the intellectual curiosity of a scientist, the patience of a priest, and the compassion of a good shrink. He tells the truth. And when he (on rare occasions) doesn't have an answer to a question (about a new or unfamiliar drug on the market, for example), he doesn't try to wing it--he looks it up and does his homework. How many doctors will let a patient see them consult the PDR about a drug? Your health is more important to him than his ego. He knows how to solve problems, and he knows when it's appropriate to call in specialists. Good basketball players can score--great ones know when to pass the ball to someone closer to the goal. Dr. Meehan is a brilliant physician. We need more like him.

I have been nothing but disappointed with doctors since moving to NY - Dr Meehan (and staff) are a welcome change. Clean, friendly, knowledgable, welcoming. Look no further - you have found the perfect setting and doctor!

Clean, modern office...helpful & happy staff, even if they are a bit rushed sometimes. Doctor is friendly and very much focused on your health. Asks questions and doesn't hesitate to send you to specialists if there is even a hint or question that something might be less than perfect.

Dr. Meehan is excellent. He listens carefully to everything you say. He is clearly trying to piece together a story of your health, which most doctors won't take the time to do. He also is quick about follow-up on bloodwork, ultrasounds, etc. He calls personally to discuss with patients. Also, he is thorough. If there is something minor that is bothering me, he investigates it, rather than just let it go. The specialists he has referred me too are also very good doctors. Clearly he vets them before handing out referrals to his patients. The staff at his office is very helpful, courteous and friendly. His assistant always tries to get me in if I have an emergency. They are punctual and make sure to keep appointments. His assistant is also very thorough - following up with referrals and prescriptions. Excellent primary care.

I have had all too much experience in medical care, accounting for the experiences of my entire family, and I have become very critical of most doctors. But I have rarely met one who equals the standards of Dr. Meehan. This is one doctor who truly listens to a patient, doesn't just go through the motions. He is analytical and thoughtful before coming to a conclusion. He is not overly "defensive," that is does not assume disaster too easily. But he is careful and insistent about preventative measures like exams and new symptoms. Meehan also maintains a network of referrals, which astonishingly he actually follows up. He will ask about experiences with the referred specialist and makes notes. This doctor will also call you at home to confirm progress on treatment or testing. Cannot recommend more highly.

I felt as though Dr. Meehan is one of the few doctors who not only has the intelligence and training to provide great care, but also has the appropriate level of sensitivity needed to have a wonderful bedside manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is in need of a physician.
