Dr Somberg is one of the best general surgeons that I know. He is funny (a jokester), warm, friendly, caring, smart and will study your case until he gets the answers. He is quick to get to the heart of the problem and quick to take action and shows real regret when the outcome isn't as expected and will figure out what to do next. He seems to have that old-fashioned attitude of "once you are a surgeon's patient, you are his patient for life." The only huge drawback is that during your time in the exam room he is paying attention to everything else but you. He answers pages, door knocks and other interruptions that occur, so that your 15 minute visit is actually only 5 very choppy hands-on, attention giving minutes. But...he will go out of his way to make sure you are given the right diagnostics, the right treatment and the right follow-up care.
