This is probably my worst experience with a medical provider. The appointments for the Doctor appear to be way overbooked. I always had to wait over an hour for a 5 minute rush visit with the Doctor. I was prescribed a controlled drug and told to call in when I needed a refill. When I tried to call in to get a refill, I was told they could find no record of the Doctor prescribing the drug and that I would have to make an appointment to talk with the Doctor. The Doctor had prescribed the drug appproximately 6 months prior and CVS was also trying to get an updated script from Dr. Jo. I had just seen the Doctor 3 months prior and had been given an order for bloodwork and a follow-up appointment to review the bloodwork and controlled drug’s effectiveness. Top it all off with being treated in a condescending manner by members of the office staff. I have zero confidence that my care was given adequate attention by this provider.

I would suggest you RUN and look for another urologist if you need help. He has no time for his patients and advises to go to the ER. I have been catheterized 2 times in the past 11/2 weeks and started self catheterization also. When I called because I could no longer self catheter he advised to go back to the ER. He just wants money. RUN RUN RUN!

I would suggest that you read through these reviews carefully. I found it interesting that ratings for female patients vs, male patients are quite different.

My experience... average wait time after appointment time has pasted is approximately 1 hour before you are placed in an examine room. The doctor is always overbooked and spends little time with you. The first appointment was approximately 7 minutes during which he ordered several tests and was not interested in hearing anything from me. I was referred because of micro traces of blood in urine. I tried to tell him that a medicine I had been taking that it was a known side-effect and I had stopped taking the medicine prior to my appointment with him and had not had anymore issues. Again, not interested in what I had to say but was more than happy to inform me that it could be tumors in my kidneys or bladder.

The second appointment I thought was to go over tests. Doctor rushed after I waited an 1 1/2hrs to see him said CT-Scan was negative and he was prepping room for Cystoscope as I sat in relief that tests came back negative and shock that he wanted to do an evasive procedure on my right now and he left the exam room (Dr. was in exam room less than 4 minutes). I got up to inform the nurse that I had more questions. Dr Jo came back and STOOD over me it was obvious to me that he was very “put out” that he needed to come back into the exam room. Needless to say my questions were cut off (again) and he slammed the exam room door as he exited.

My advice is if you are the type of person who wants to understand and make informed decisions about your medical care find another doctor. I have heard of doctors with a “god complex” and have been fortunate to have not experienced it before this guy... because that is a perfect summation for Dr. Jo. Needless to say I won’t be going back.

The reason the staff section rec’d three stars was they really were pleasant to interface with.

After moving to a new state it is refreshing to find a Dr whom I feel comfortable with. Dr. Jo makes me feel at ease and provides the same great level of care I had with my other Dr. of 12 years.

Dr jo and the staff don't know what they doing they make an appointment and then when you get there you can't be seen because he went out on his own they knew this I should have been told about this instead of wasting my day because I had an appointment and my day was you wasted and they put you in a room and you wait forever

I had a stent after my surgery and this was not easily tolerated. However the staff at Dr Jo's office were very patient and answered all questions in a timely manner. Excellent team of professionals.

Dr. Jo combines evident clinical skill with tremendous warmth and compassion. He is precisely what one wishes to find in a doctor's treatment of patients: experience, expertise, and genuine concern for the individual in front of him.
