I came to Dr. Medford a month ago with a goal to improve my vision. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy because I had myopia with astigmatism. 20 years ago I had lasik surgery which made it possible for me not to wear glasses. But with Age it’s gotten worse and I got a cataract.
I decided to go to the doctor for a consultation, he was recommended to me by my friend. Dr. David performed the surgery and it was extremely successful.
I am very grateful for the doctors professionalism, his knowledge and advices that he gave me in the process. He made the process very easy, with no stress.

I highly recommend Dr. Medford for anyone trying to decide on a doctor for cataract surgery. I had gone to another doctor first and did not feel comfortable with him at all. (Maybe he was having a bad day, I don't know). But I wasn't going to take a chance with my eyesight. I then went see Dr. Medford. The difference was like night and day. Dr. Medford, Yahoska (surgical coordinator), and any of the staff I dealt with made me feel comfortable and relaxed. And believe me, I had plenty of anxiety beforehand. Everything was explained to me clearly and in detail. The surgical center was clean and run very efficiently. Everything there was also explained in detail during the prep. It's like the whole world is in high definition now and I don't even need glasses. I am so glad I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Medford. It could not have gone any better. Highly recommended.

Dr.Medford performed cataract surgery on my eyes in July and September of 2021. I am very happy with the results. Dr. Medford carefully explained the procedures that would take place and recommended the best lense choice for my eyes. The procedure went very well and quick and my eyesight is so improved that I don't need glases to read. Dr. Medford has been my eye doctor for over 30 years. He has always been attentive and thorough at all of my visits. Recently, I underwent Lasik Surgery and would not have thought of going to any other doctor for this procedure. He let me know how the procedure is performed and answered all of my questions. Dr. Medford, Yahoska and the staff were helpful and kind. They helped me feel at ease with the whole procedure and checked in often to see how I was feeling. I had a prior Detached Retina surgery in one eye and a Macula hole repaired in the other, so I was very concerned about my impending Cataract surgery. Dr. Medford was very thorough and explained all my options, costs, and expected results. He even gave me several “practice” contact lenses to try out between surgeries to help me understand how my choices would effect my ultimate vision. Both my eyes have now had the cataract surgery, and the results are beyond my expectations. I see better than I ever remember seeing. Because of some “tweaking” Dr. Medford was able to give me vision which now is virtually free of glasses. I can see distance day or night, use my computer, and read the newspaper without glasses. I never expected to ever see this well. It is like magic; I am thrilled!
He runs a tight ship, and I was particularly impressed by his surgical coordinator, Yahoska. She was readily available and gave me lots of information and help.
Even though cataract surgery is now fairly routine. we patients still find it daunting. Be assured that with Dr. Medford you will get the best care possible in friendly environment. I highly recommend him.

I have been going to Dr. Medford for over 20 years. I will never trust any other doctor with the care and diagnosis of my eyes. Previously, he oversaw the healing of my eyes through a pseudo tumor and recently performed successful Cataract Surgery. He has always been diligent, kind, thorough, and patient with me and my concerns. Dr. David Medford is a TOP DOC and his office staff is just as marvelous.

Dr Medford removed the cataracts from both of my eyes during the month of May 2021. He fully explained the procedures and recommended the Femto Laser to soften the lenses, measure the cataracts and cut the slit to remove the lenses with the cataracts because the laser reduces the after surgery problems. I had no complications or discomfort following surgery. The Femto Laser, I believe, was a big help in reducing the post operative symptoms and would recommend it. The doctors and nurses at Dr Medord’s office and at the Ridgedale Surgery Center were excellent and explained each step before surgery. The total time was about 2 hours. I strongly recommend Dr Medford for your cataract surgery and I have to say that for me, he has given me back my vision

At my first appointment with Dr. Medford, I was surprised when he told me that up-to-date methods for diagnosing glaucoma involved measuring more than just intraocular pressure. He used some sophisticated instruments to make those measurements and determined that there was no need for me to keep taking eye drops. I stopped using them. He kept checking, but for 15 years there was never any reason to start again.

Then another condition needed attention: cataracts. Dr. Medford’s knowledge, skill and state of the art equipment let him create what seems to me miraculous. He replaced the cataracts with advanced lenses that allow me to see clearly at any distance. That’s right— after 70 years of wearing glasses, I pitched the last of them in the garbage. I read the Times on my cellphone, watch television across the room, enjoy the rainbow in the distance without needing glasses for anything.

Although my double eye cataract/monovision surgery was just over a year ago, I am still in awe of the gift of sight that Dr. Medford has given me. Prior to the surgery, I suffered from very poor vision and could not function without my glasses. Contacts were getting harder and harder to wear. Today, I am glasses free and that includes reading glasses too!! My vision is almost perfect 20/30 ! Dr. Medford is a true professional. The expertise, care and concern that he expressed during the entire two surgeries was amazing. That is why he has been my ophthalmologist for over 25 years!

Dr. Medford did an outstanding job for me. In my first visit he carefully explained the procedure and its possible complications, answering all questions and outlining all options fully. As it turned out, after my first (right) eye procedure went perfectly, I did develop inflammation which caused me concern… but Dr. Medford immediately responded by prescribing additional medications and seeing me nearly every day. He even met me at the office on a weekend to ensure progress was being made and provided a phone number with which I could call him if the necessity arose. When all was done, everything turned out great, and when I went back for the left eye, he took additional steps to ensure my overly sensitive body didn’t react this way again. I can now see perfectly, and it’s all because of Dr. Medford’s outstanding efforts.
As a side note, I especially liked that during each procedure, Dr. Medford explained what was happening, how long it would be until the next step, and what I should expect next. (I was sedated but awake for the entire procedure.) This was very comforting.
Dr. Medford’s knowledge, experience, and attention to detail really paid off. I never felt rushed, I had all the time I needed for him to answer my questions and allay my concerns; and while he did make recommendations, he never tried to force me into one option or another. Having eye surgery can be a stressful time, but Dr. Medford made the process as easy and as stress free as possible.
