I do NOT care what Dr Clokie does in his personal life. He was an excellent surgeon. I had 3 surgeries in total by him, one using his inventive BMT bone growth enhancer. He ALWAYS made me feel like I was in control of my surgeries, and always made me feel at ease by explaining everything and letting me see my scans and lab work (I work in the medical field). He was the type of doctor that would call you at home with results! One evening I was having emergency surgery - he was due at some high class dinner. He was late to the dinner because of my surgery and showed up at the hospital in the wee hours to check on me post op. I now have a reoccurrence of my tumor after 14 years and I only wish Dr Clokie was practicing so that he once again could be my surgeon. Ironically the dentist who originally missed my tumor got a slap on the wrist from the college, yet Dr Clokie gets suspended over a failed lover affair!!

OMFS and Dr. Clokie are riddled in fraud. Very ripe to be sued if anyone feels they were ripped off by the department. There has already been a number of law suits and investigations launched against them for frauds.

My experience was not so excellent at all. I had a bone graft taken from my hip for my bone loss, by Dr. Clokie. After surgery my hip was numb. I told him about it, he said it would go away within a year. This was back in 2006, it is now 2018 and my hip is still numb. At that time, I asked him to refer me to a dentist, he referred me to an unexperienced dentist and till this day my ordeal is still not done, I guess that was him punishing me for not excepting his referral to his brother which would have cost me dearly.
I'm still looking for a dentist that will help me. I'm in constant pain and can't eat properly.
I called his office regarding my hip and was totally dismissed, I felt threatened and helpless with such a powerful person “so I thought at the time" and feared going any further.
I have been suffering all these years.
I have lost family and friends due to this ordeal and rarely leave my home.
Furthermore, every time I went to Mount Sinai hospital and I went often as his students did my implants, which was an extremely invasive experience with a bunch of students as they were having a party is what it felt like to me, I had to take x-rays because they always misplaced them. I lost count on how many, I feared the radiation and he knew that but didn't care.
As far as I'm concerned, he deserves everything that's coming his way.
I'm sure I'm not the only one he has done this sort of thing to.
I'll have to suffer for the rest of my life due to his negligence.

I won't attempt to defend him on the charges against him but I will say that he is excellent in implants. My dentist recommended him highly and he was wonderful, very professional, pleasant and reassuring. I hope he somehow gets reinstated - I need more implants. I certainly have not been paid to praise him.

Dr Clokie is a truly exceptional oral surgeon. He is responsive, kind, caring, and extremely competent. When in his chair I trusted him completely for complex surgical issues, and I felt very lucky indeed to receive his care. I travelled gratefully from another city to see him. I think that this gem of a professional and person is worthy of the highest trust. I think he was trustful and was betrayed. Now the rest of us are tragically deprived of his exceptional expertise.
