I went in with concerns of possible dementia. She didn't address my dementia and its ramifications. Looking at the screen she started smiling and immediately told me she didn't believe people need antianxiety medication. She told me I needed to go to a psychiatrist. She then put me on a medicine I have never taken before without a follow up scheduled. She told me to go my cardiologist which is the wrong specialist. It's a neurologist Dr. Mankin. On the summary of my visit nothing was noted on dementia only that she decided to stop some of my meds prescribed by another physician. She did not take into consideration that one MUST be gradually stopped but never asked why I was taking an antianxiety medication. Absolutely no idea of what I have been dealing with. Never asked. Didn't care. Just pretty much accused me of being a druggie. She was the pill police. She never said a word of concern or comfort for my concerns about dementia. I guess the plus side of that is if I do have dementia, I will forget my experience. Dr. Mankin needs to learn compassion and empathy. I will not go back nor would I recommend her to anyone.

Do not go to this doctor. Bad bedside manner. Laughs when you ask questions. Not a good listener. Acts like she is better than you. She told my sister to get a stool sample on our way out of her office. My sister did, and when we asked the lab tech to collect the sample - she refused! I told her that was her job and she literally refused to touch it. I passed Dr. Mankin in the hallway and explained that the lab tech wouldn't do her job. Dr. Mankin looked right at me - laughed- and turned and walked away. Leaving ME to handle my sister's stool sample. I have never experienced such a lack of respect and professionalism. I hope that lab tech gets fired and that Dr. Mankin learns what it takes to become a respectable doctor. If you have to go to her - better bring your own gloves - you never know what you'll end up having to do.

After many years with a doctor I loved, he was suddenly forced to retire. With no where to go a friend of mine suggested Dr. Mankin. I decided to give Dr. Mankin a try. Turned out to be a fantastic decision. Dr. Mankin has been a life saver. I have a number of complex health issues and Dr. Mankin has helped me greatly. She is great listener and very knowledgeable. Furthermore, she is well aware of the high cost of prescription meds and is always looking for a cheaper treatment that is just as effective as more expensive ones. I would highly recommend Dr. Mankin to anyone lucky enough to get her as a doctor.

I saw this doctor as a new patient and it was by far the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. She appeared resentful of my previous and well respected doctor, was very unpleasant, and didn't even discuss my minor health issues with me. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.

Alice Joy Mankin, MD. The first thing she said to me was "I see you haven't had insurance for quite a few years." She then ask "Why did you choose me?" She told me about all the tests she would like for me to take and a class on diabetes. I ask how much these tests would cost. I would be responsible for everything up to $6,000 and my insurance would pick up 100% after that. I needed to know how to budget. Dr. Mankin ask me if I understood the difference between BMW, Cadillac and a Ford. She went on to say that this place is a Mercedes! She told me to go to a free clinic. She brought a drawing that a 4th grader made and she explained to me, as if I were a child, about diabetes. She stressed, with disgust, that this is an expensive disease as if I had chosen it. She said she would not give me any prescriptions. When we walk out of the room she pointed to the door and said leave. I have never in my life been treated this way.

Dr. Alice Mankin is impressive! Not only was she on time, but she was pleasant and genuinely cared about the answers I gave. She also was open to the fact I approach my health in a more natural way. I presented as a new patient for a well woman exam and she was concerned about my comfort and educated me on recent recommendations on health for my age. Staff was helpful enough and the medical assistant had a good personality and took her time. As a Physician Assistant who doesn't like doctor's visits (yes, I know)...I have to say that this was, in my 41 years, the best experience at a clinic I have ever had. She was thorough and made sure I understood what she was doing. If you are apprehensive about going to a physician and need a good one, I highly recommend her--you will feel like she is on your team!
