After reading the comments listed here, I feel like we are discussing two different doctors. I have been a patient of Dr. Schirripa for 4 years plus, and my husband also for about 2 years. We always look forward to our appointments with Dr. Schirripa. He is very friendly, competent, takes all the time you need and does not rush. I would highly recomend Dr. Schirripa. We have full confidence in him. Don't believe the negatives seen on this page. I wonder if you would see them if we had to add our name to our comments.

Awful nephrologist. Did not explain at all how serious dialysis is. Just said be downstairs at 11am. No compassion, no information. As a nurse it doesn't need to be dumbed down. It wasn't even dumbed down. There was no information at all! Hope your expensive suits are worth unhappy patients who will be switching to a different nephrology group in Monmouth county. Way to give doctors a bad reputation.

The one thing we wanted in a specialist was someone who would take time with us and expalian everything. He spent plenty of time, not rushed like the other comments say. He was actually very personable as well. The other comments in this review just arent accurate!

Dr. Schirripa was extremely rude, hurried, and condescending. He was uninformative and resented being asked any questions. When my parents wanted clarification on dialysis, he told them that he is the doctor and they need not ask so many questions. Do not go to him. He has no bedside manner. Insurance: Medicare

Dr Schirripa is informative, friendly, patient and intelligent. He treats my mother with respect and takes the time to explain her medications, test results, etc. There are times when I feel like we are keeping him from his other patients. We are never rushed out of his office. Highly recommend him.

The doctor is quite distant and unhelpful when you need prescriptions updated. He pawns you off on "associates" when you need him the most and doesn't check on you when you are hospitalized. Knowledgable but not somebody to rely on when the chips are down.
