Worst physician I have ever encountered. He's dismissive, and genuinely did not seem to care at all about the pain I have been experiencing for over a decade. His exam was extremely rough, and caused far more pain than it should have. If you are referred to him, request that your GP send you to someone else.

Dr Lalani and his staff were amazing. I was referred to him for a second opinion. He is absolutely one of the best and more caring drs ever. He takes time and answers every question. His bed side manners are so amazing. I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy. He has taken him time to calm my nerves. His staff is wonderful and really takes time with you as well. I couldn’t ask for a better surgeon and staff. 100% you will not regret seeing this dr

I was referred to Dr. Lalani for endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids and ovarian cysts. Initially his only solution was oral contraceptives, which I explained my endocrinologist took me off of as if was wreaking havoc on my mental health and hormonal balance. After arguing, he agreed to surgery (this was after his colleague whom I had seen initially told me surgery was my best option), but said it was elective so I would have to wait 8-9 months. I had advocated that he remove my ovaries due to a family history of ovarian cancer, he said no, he didn't want me going into menopause. His MOA at the time took pity on my and scheduled me for surgery a month later. He did not visit me before my discharge for a debrief, and 6 weeks later told me everything went fine. I was informed by my endocrinologist that he had to perform multiple blunt dissections as the endometriosis had formed adhesions between my organs. Fast forward to now, the endometriosis has progressed, I am on pain killers daily (liver is not doing great), and I have growths on my ovaries (potentially endometrioma and/ or ovarian teratomas - my mother battled ovarian cancer). Again, his solution is hormonal medications (one that would put me into menopause) as well as oral contraceptives. He indicated he could not give me surgery, that I would have to wait on the list for about a year for the pain clinic to determine whether or not I should have surgery. He didn't seem to care about the daily pain, discomfort and struggles I am suffering through.
Maybe he is a good doctor to some....I hope he is, but he has been awful with me.

This man deserves every 5-star rating he receives. And then some! His entire staff is professional, knowledgeable, and caring. His assistant is so caring and helpful. His most important concern is my health; everything else is secondary. Thank you!

He refused a tubal ligation just cause I’m not 30 years old (I’m 26). who gives him the right of deciding what I do with my body? They could have mention when I booked the appointment that he doesn’t do the procedures to people my age, instead of making waste my time.

Dr Lalani is awesome. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have been referred to him. He is kind, compassionate and a truly skilled surgeon. He removed my uterus, ovaries and tubes and tightened my bladder ligaments - all through 4 tiny holes (one in my belly button); I spent just 20 hours in hospital and required no pain killers (even tylenol) when I went home. Now cancer-free, I am inordinately grateful for his diligence and prompt action. I am not a needy or anxious patient, but Dr Lalani tells me if a biopsy will hurt, promises to talk me through it (and does); he held my hand as I was anaesthetized, was with me when I woke up and promptly phoned my partner to update him on my outcome. We are both so grateful for his skill and kindness.

My phone appointment was 50 minutes late. Dr. Salim Lalani dismissed all my complaints and said that my family doctor should screen me and do any checks (that never happened during my 7 years in Vancouver). I was totally confused and asked him what his specialty was, he responded that he dealt mostly with surgery, not regular screen of patients. I can confirm that I will never see this doctor again. If he doesn't do regular screen of patients, then the receiption lady should have communicated that upfront. I believe if a woman notices disbalance symptoms in her woman health, she must be seen by a doctor. In my case I wasn't heard and redirected toy family doctor. I feel my time was wasted and I didn't receive the real gynecologist quality visit. Very disappointing to have such health care providers in BC.
