I had a serious hockey injury. I was a quadrapalegic for 20 minutes. Multi-level cervical damage. Went to 4 top-rated orthopedic surgeons. Finally told to see Dr. Vessa by a Surgeon who sits on the Board of Director's for another hospital. Was told he is the man. He is and then some. Dr. Vessa did a multi-level ACDF with Hip Graft. No more mobility issues, numbness, or PAIN! Brilliant Doctor!

Dr. Vessa recently performed Anterior Discectomy with Fusion surgery on two of my cervical discs. I can't say enough wonderful things about him and his staff. He spent a lot of time discussing the procedure with me and my husband beforehand. I never felt rushed or that I couldn't call him any time to ask questions. He made me feel comfortable at all times. He knew I was nervous but did everything he could to alleviate my fears. The mark of a great physician in my opinion. The Somerset Orthopedic Surgical center was great and the staff there was amazing as well! I highly recommend Dr. Vessa and his extremely competent staff!

Saw this doctor 3 times in the office due to severe back pain. Seemed nice during the office visits and examined me thoroughly. I had previously had back surgery with another doctor years before. Eventually recommended I do physical therapy because of the pain and limitations I had in activities. Something went wrong in therapy and I became very disabled with extreme pain and immobility. I could not physically get to the doctor's office but my husband went with an appointment to speak to him about my condition and to get advice on which medications I should take from a supply I already had. The doctor refused to speak to my husband and his staff refused to allow me to speak to him myself on the phone. In fact the receptionist told me "There are no services we can offer you" there was total lack of care and indifference toward my pain and situation, and the doctor never called me although I left a message asking him to please call

Told me that he cant make any money from operating on me for which i severely needed...due the low money involved with both chi and workers compensation....He kew I needed the proceedure but refused to help me because of money!!!!! Iwas devastated but I found another more accepting and expert...It was devastating for me to be refused by him because his profit was more important than treatment

Dr. Vessa was the second specialist I saw for sciatica. He spent the time to work with me through my pain, I was never rushed or ignored as with previous Doc. Nerve was pinched in 3 places and I ended up needing a spinal fusion. I've been 2 years pain free. He is the best. Highly recommend him and his practice.

Sometimes he seems forgetful. However, he seems concerned and sincere. He stayed and listened to my concerns. I did feel a little rushed. I would say a good doctor but no necessarily a great doctor
