I have been going to Dr. Gladstone for over 12 years and I can say that he is a very caring, knowledgeable, and professional doctor. He takes his time, listens to your needs, truly cares and definitely is not a pill pusher. He will go the extra mile to help you if you need it. There are not enough great things to say about Dr Gladstone!

My name is Maryam Mohazzebi, I have been a patient of Dr. Jonathan Gladstone for over 10 years. He is the only doctor that could help me with my migraine headaches. His care, attentiveness, patience, knowledge and kindness is beyond and above of line of duty. I have never seen a doctor cares so much for his patients and not being afraid to try new treatments or medications. He put me on Aimovig the new medication for migraine that has been life changing for me. Dr. Gladstone and his staff are the best. Thank you Dr. Gladsotne for your help. I don't know what I could do without you. Thank you so much.

My name is Denise Shawana and I'm from Northern Ontario. I received a concussion and neck injury due to falling on ice on March 3, 2013 and striking the back of my head, (6 years ago). I worked as a Paramedic and after my fall I was put on modified duties immediately after my on the job injury. My headaches were severe with dizziness and nausea if I moved to fast. I had light sensitivity and was unable to be active in my community or in groups of people. I was not able to drive for more the 30 minutes at a time and even that was more then pushing it. I was on modified duties for almost 2 years when I forced my self to try to go back to full duties as a paramedic because some of my co-workers were putting complaints in against me, as they felt I should not be on modified work, but I was not able to do my job. I only made my condition worse.

WSIB had referred me to two Brian Injury Clinics for assessment, one in Sudbury and to one in Toronto, (Toronto Rehab Institute, TRI), with Dr. Jonathan Gladstone. with in the first few months after my injury. I was contacted by Dr. Gladstones office first, I don't think I ever heard from Sudbury.

I have found Dr. Gladstone and his staff at TRI to be very professional and extremely knowledgeable in there professions. During my recovery period I have had to do a lot of retraining of the way I do things, even gong to the grocery store was exhausting and overwhelming at the beginning, but with the held of Dr. Gladstone and his staff I am now able to get my life back. I went through a stage of anger, grief, loss, resentment and depression. I went through a number of different medications to try to find what would work for me. I have had about 4 years for Botox injection treatment for the headache pain management and over the past 6 months I am finally having headache free days. Fortunately, WSIB has been good to me and they have just renewed my prescription for an other year of Botox injection therapy with Dr. Gladstone.

Thanks to Dr. Gladstone for his excellent care and knowledge in the field of brain injuries for helping me get my life back.

Concussions don't heal on their own with out proper medical care, and it is a process. It doesn't get better over night.

Hi, my name Rimma. I am very thankful Dr J.P. Gladstone for his dedication in trying to help me with my many years migraine struggles. Due to his knowledge and competence in all new drug developments I was free from migraine for 1.5 month so far, first time for last 15 years. He advised me to try aimovig and it was a miracle. Thank you again, Doctor, for all your time and your efforts that you spent trying to save me from migraine pain.

Very disappointed with my experience with him. Felt like an interrogation rather then the help WSIB was supposedly sending me there for. One year of headaches, light sensitivity after a head injury and I was told my symptoms didn't add up to my injury. An hour and a half interrogation with a 45 second physical test. Really felt degraded leaving his office. Good luck getting the help your promised if your sent to him by WSIB.

He is a terrible one I have see so far. No respect for patient, always put patient down, and wont even allow patient to talk; he would interrupt whatever you are trying to say and puts his premade treatment plan in front of you. Also he has no value for any patient past medical record, likes to boss patient around. I would never refer anyone to do visit him. Also his staff member are stacked off, I got my first appointment with the doctor after 1 and half year. Thereafter my second appointment "sleep test" referral was sent to the sunny brook hospital after 1 year. This Dr is of no help and has no manners on how to interact with patient.

I was referred to Dr. Gladstone to deal with the after-effects of a concussion I sustained in a bus accident in which I was thrown forward and down 6ft. It took months for his office to respond. Dr. Gladstone finally appeared 4 hours late and came to the conclusion that not only did I not have a concussion, I did not even hit my head. I can only conclude the doctor thought I was planning to launch a lawsuit, which was not the case. Also, he and his assistant repeatedly referred to the WSIB, even though my case had nothing whatsoever to do with them. Dr. Gladstone had promised to send my family doctor details of which medication he suggested for my headaches, but his office did not respond to repeated requests from her. It is clear from the reviews below as well as the treatment I received that Dr. Gladstone cannot separate his career from his personal prejudices: people referred to him through Toronto Rehab are patients just as deserving of professional treatment as those who can afford to pay him in his private practice.

I have had chronic daily tension headaches since I was 17 years old and I am now a 39 year old mother of two. My headaches lasted throughout both pregnancies and all through my twenties and thirties. I have seen many doctors and three neurologists before Dr. Gladstone. I was told that it was just stress and that I need to learn to relax. Really? When you wake up with a headache, shower with a headache, go to work with a headache, go to bed with a headache life becomes frustrating. You try everything to get some relief - oils, massage, acupuncture, crystals, etc, etc. I tried all different types of medications, botox - nothing worked. I became addicted to the medications. At the time that I began seeing Dr. Gladstone I was taking two tylenol 3's and two Aleve gel caplets 2-3 times daily. Yes - four pills sometimes three times a day. I was getting rebound headaches. Dr. Galdstone said I had to wean myself off of those meds. It wasn't easy. Were there setbacks - of course! But I did it and honestly I'm a completely different person. Am I headache free, no I'm not. But life is NOT what it used to be. Moral of the story - he does know what he's talking about, he is sensitive to what we are going through, he is ready to help. The question is, are we ready to change? Thanks Dr. Gladstone for helping me realize that I was ready :)

My name is Barton Oake. I am 38 and have had Cluster since my late teens. On April 7th 2014 it became chronic. Of course at first we didn't know it had done so. I had a very good neurologist prior to Dr Gladstone, he had been trying the usual things, Verapamil , melatonin, Lithium etc. Things just weren't changing. In fact they were getting worse. I had requested to become a patient on Dr Gladstone some months before, but new it was unlikely. One day out of the blue the phone rang, it was Alisha (Dr Gladstone amazing secretary), asking if I was still interested in seeing the Dr. By now I was becoming desperate. My Clusters had increased to 3-4 a day, lasting upto 2 hours each time.
As soon as I could I got an appointment. By this time I had been having them everyday, upto 5-8 a day all being a 10 for pain. The thing about that is, Clusters like to attack as your body is falling asleep. Meaning you end up not sleeping, as well as fearing sleep. A vicious circle, trust me. Dr Gladstone seemed to be the Only Dr thus far in my life who understood what I was going through. He did not (as most doctors will) start again on the long lists of meds to work through. But instead said well we know what doesn't work, let's try something new. So we started trying combinations of drugs. Unfortunately with no success. Eventually I felt like I wasn't going to make it through this.... when you haven't slept for 3 days and have spent 18 out of 24 hours screaming, banging your head and punching yourself, you start to loose all hope that you can even get to the next day. As soon as Dr Gladstone realized how bad things had become I was admitted to hospital. I was immediately started on DHE, indomethacin, followed by 1g prednisone everyday for three days. They had stopped. He had done it. I slept like I have never done before. But it was short lived. Three days later they return. It seemed, even worse. So he admitted me again. This time DHE and 1g prednisone at the same time, for three days. That was three weeks ago. I am still Cluster free. I cannot express to you all how desperate I felt, how distant from everyone I became. People like Dr Gladstone are working constantly to help people like us. Never forget that. There is help, it took me nearly one year to the day. But stay strong, remember ANYTHING can happen tomorrow.
