Today was my first visit. I have to agree punctuality is not Dr Gold's strength but he is very professional, knowledgeable and personable. He does spend a lot of time getting to know the patients medical history. I think there is a lot of judgement attitudes among doctors in general but not with Dr Gold. He presents the medical facts and provides treatment options as ultimately if the patient does not choose to value their health how can a doctor want it for the patient. It's always a choice and I liked that I was not forced to make a decision that I could not live with in my daily life. Who wants to go to a doctor with a sparkling personality and they are worthless as a diagnostician.

I would not recommend Dr. Gold to anyone with endocrinology issues. He made very poor treatment decisions, which at the time, I didn't realize. I am now being treated at the University of Colorado Anschultz center in Denver. They are worth the drive and my docter explained to me why Dr. Gold's treatment decisions were not recommended. The University docters are experts in the field. Not only do they see patients, but they conduct research of their own so they are aware of all new discoveries within endocrinology. Do yourself a favor, and skip Dr. Gold. He'll keep you waiting with no regard for your time, and his treatment of your disease may be questionnable. In addition, I've see cardiologists in Colorado Springs who state that there are no GOOD endocrinologists in the Springs and Denver is where you need to find a doctor.

I first went to Dr. Gold in 2007. His staff explained that he doesn't run on time, and that I would most likely see him in the evening rather than afternoon. That worked great for me! I'm a teacher, and never had to worry about missing class or getting a substitute in order to have my medical appointment. Dr. Gold was very detailed and no nonsense when helping me through my medical issue. Fast forward to 2012, my ob/gyn was making errors in my treatment during pregnancy. Dr. Gold stayed very late in order to meet with me, and took on my thyroid care during my entire high-risk pregnancy. Sometimes my appointments last an hour or more. He cares, and wants the best outcome for patients. Running late, especially when his staff readily communicates about that, is a very minor issue. I wish all doctors would run late, but spend quality time with me hearing my health history and going out of their way to make patients healthy.

I agree that Dr. Gold has unusual hours. I was irate the first time I saw him. His appointments do run in to the late evening but I never have to leave work early to see him! He takes his time and goes over all of your medical history and I've never had an appointment that was less than 45min-1 hour. I don't mind waiting when I know he is going to take his time and go over EVERYTHING. He is knowledgeable and thorough.

I second the other rating. Dr Gold has no respect for his patient's time. Even though he has a small private practice, he is typically 3-4 hours late for appts. He doesn't speak much in the visit, so you don't get educated about what is going on. When I needed a letter fror my insurance company, his office was very unwilling to take the time and effort to write one for me. I hear he's knoweldgable but I did not go back to him, so he did not diagnose my problem. I would recommend going elsewehere.

If you'd like to be seen in any sort of timely manner, go elsewhere. Dr. Gold and staff is shameless. They will not apologize if your 1:00 appointment is pushed up until 4:00 (or later; there’s still a half hour of wait when you get there). Even if you've scheduled weeks in advance, you're expected to spend an entire afternoon waiting by the phone for the receptionist to call you in. Shockingly enough, the reason for this lack of punctuality is not that Dr. Gold is seeing other patients- He's Just Not In The Office!!! Don’t believe me? Simply ask the receptionist. Furthermore, the silver lining of this practice is thin. The physician’s skills are average, at best; his dedication to patient care is suspect; overall, simply not good enough to excuse the gross delay in care!
