Dr. Mathews has a friendly personality and a good sense of humour to make patients feel comfortable. His work is excellent and his credentials speak for themselves. I Had my two lower wisdoms removed and had minimal pain during recovery by just taking advil and tylenol on the first day. Highly recommended!

Dr. Ian Matthew has a very humorous personality and extremely approachable. I have all 4 wisdom teeth taken out by him, in a total of 1 counseling session and 2 surgery sessions. Two of my wisdom teeth were impacted, one of them was growing on the nerve, which according to my general dentist, very difficult to take out without damaging the nerves. Dr. Ian Matthew did an amazing job on removing them, my recovery period was virtually non-existent, there was minimal bleeding and swelling and pain. I strongly recommend this dental surgent after my own experience.

I was referred to Dr. Matthew by my dentist after experiencing wisdom tooth problems. From initial consultation regarding the procedure, to having the tooth out was great. I had a schedule confliction, and while the procedure was delayed, the front-desk staff were extremely helpful. They never made me feel less important, and they never seemed rushed as I called them a 7-8 times about finding medication that I wasn't allergic to, interacted badlt with current meds, and helped with symptoms related to infection. Dr.Matthew himself also provided time in his busy UBC teaching schedule to address my concerns. This was probably the best medical/dentist experience I've ever had. Your in good hands with him and his staff!

Gave me two implants. Took the time to make sure everything would fit just right, informed me of every step of the procedure. I was under general anaesthetic for the surgery and everything healed well. Great doctor, nice guy.

had my bottom right wisdom tooth taken out as it was impacted. i asked to be knocked out and when i woke up i was a bit dizzy but was not in pain. came home took the painkillers as instructed and so far good. i was able to eat solid food after 72 hrs.

He took out all 4 impacted wisdom teeth in the OR. It didn't take long and the healing was good!

AMAZING Oral surgeon. I'm a dental hygienist, and had heard great things about him. Had all 4 taken out on the same day. I had 2 wisdom teeth that were impacted, and also horizontally placed. I decided to be knocked out for the procedure, and when i woke up i felt totally fine, i didn't have to take any pain killers, my face didn't swell at all. He also called to make sure I was doing okay. He did an excellent job!

Dr. Matthew was fantastic. He pulled all four of my wisdom teeth out in one day and I had fully recovered after a week. He also called me to make sure I wasnt in pain and had me come back to flush the wounds with water to prevent dry sockets. I recommend him to anyone who will listen. He is the best doctor/dentist I've ever been to.

He did a bone graft for me. Had a great chair-side manner, was gentle, explained everything clearly, and did a fantastic job. I'm a physician myself, and I think he has all the qualities of a great dentist. Wish he was my physician too, not just my dentist!!
