Read all the comments from others and you will begin to see a pattern. This Dr is a master at making you return again and again, and never fixing the problem. After many visits I finally gave up and went to another Dr. He is rude and quick to leave you sitting and wondering what you did to deserve such treatment. I complained that I was having a problem with my eyeglass prescription, all I got was an arguement. Very frustrating to be treated like that. During one visit I waited more than an hour past my appt time. When the staff finally realized that my file had not been placed in line, the Dr himself came out to get me. If you plan on doing the dry eye treatment which will be pushed on you, plan on shelling out $1,800 of your own money plus a copay for the visit. Do yourself and your ins. provider a favor, DON'T GO THERE.

Dr Kootman has been my eye doctor for about five years. He has always been very professional and caring. He will always be my eye doctor.

Kootman is rude, too busy and really has no interest in being helpful.

This was the worst office I had ever been to. The office staff is always late and they don't care about anything. They are rude! The young female doctor was great but the nurse was impatient and condescending. Dr. Kootman didn't listen to a thing I said and just kept telling me to come back in a week. He prescribed medications that shouldn't be used long term yet he had me using them for an extended period of time. I switched dr. and I am so glad. I think I would have gone blind if I kept seeing Kootman. Worst and most unprofessional dr. office that I have ever been to in my life!

WORST DR.S OFFICE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! WAITED OVER 2 HOURS TO BE SEEN AND THE FRONT DESK LADIES ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT GOSSIPING THEN HELPING PATIENTS. WHEN ASKED HOW MUCH LONGER SHE DIDNT SAY ONE WORD AND WALKED AWAY ROLLING HER EYES AND CAME BACK 5 MORE MINUTES. THEN UPON SEEING THE DR WAS TOLD "YEAH YOURE NOT THE ONLY ONE IM DEALING WITH TODAY" WHEN MENTIONED THE LONG WAIT. RUDE AND WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!

He works with another physician who does all the preliminary evaluation work. (I believe his name is Dr Hebber??) DR Hebber's very gentle, calming, and thorough and explains what he's doing. He is the heart of that office. The back office staff is very sweet too. Although Dr Kootman is very knowledgable he is waaaay too hurried in his time with you. I felt as though he just popped into my room on his way out of a burning building. This is my eyes we're talking about! I don't think they can be evaluated in the 5 seconds he spent looking at them. You never get the feeling that he is fully there with you. If he would spend a little more his time 'with' the patient in front of him he would be a 5 star physician. He seems to have bitten off more than he can chew most of the time. When you go in, have all your questions written down on a sheet of paper before you get there. Otherwise, you'll never have time to think of what to ask him, ... he'll be gone from he room.
