Dr. Woo performed my triple bypass surgery at Stanford Hospital - his personality is exactly what you'd expect from a surgeon. His staff are very friendly, very knowledgable and accommodating whereas he is extremely knowledgeable but lacking in friendliness. This did not bother me because I knew he was there to perform the surgery and his Staff would be taking care of my recovery. I am now over 6 months post op and feel like I have my life back. I can run and exercise again, and no longer have any issues with my breathing. My only negative comment would be how long it took to get me released from the hospital even though I was already walking and cleared by most of the staff - this is not against Dr. Woo but rather the hospital administration that struggled to get me cleared more quickly to return to my home. Finally, Dr. Woo did an excellent job closing my incision and there is hardly any scaring.

Dr. Woo performed heart surgery on my brother who was 50 years old at the time. Dr. Woo was very informative, confident and communicative. Surgery was a success and that changed my brother's life.

Excellent surgeon! He performed a minimally invasive mitral valve repair,(6 hours), I left the hospital in seven days and returned to almost normal activity in three weeks, and normal activity, gym, skeet shooting, fishing, etc. in six weeks. Excellent responsive and knowledgeable hospital staff. Dr. Woo and Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania came highly recommended by doctors in both my local hospitals. For the record I am 68 years old.

Dr. Woo is a cardiac surgeon and did a minimally invasive aortic valve replacement on my husband. He was very informative and honest with my husband during his initial consultation. His surgery was very successful and the minimally invasive procedure reduced the incision by half the normal procedure (reducing recovery time). He and his staff was very personable and attentive after surgery as well.
