I had a lower face and neck lift and am beyond happy with the results. It has been 15 days since surgery and my jaw line is firm and my neck smooth...it is the best I have looked since my 20's. Dr Szalay concealed all the incisions in my ears and in the hair at the back of my scalp so there are no unsightly scars showing although there is a small incision under my chin...which no one can see. The after surgery care has been amazing, Dr Szalay has seen me 4 times since then and is very attentive and his nurses and staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly. Dr Szalay did not overpromise, in fact he is rather cautious in any statements he makes about outcomes however I am definitely delighted with the results. It has given me the confidence to go out and live the best life I can into the future. Thank-you Dr Szalay and your staff from a grateful patient. DMK

I’m not sure if he knows what he is doing
I have mini face lift with Dr Michael Szalay
I can’t see any different on my face really disappointed
Everyone is telling me I just waste my money
I told him I’m not happy but he say unfortunately he can’t do anything lol really doctor
I don’t recommend at all you will waste your money

I am sorry that you felt you had a lack of improvement from your mini lift procedure. I have found the people that obtain the most dramatic results are the ones with the loosest tissue. This is because their tissue can be lifted significantly. Patients with firmer tissue tend to obtain more subtle results. I do try to be careful when I consult with people with firmer tissue in an attempt to manage their expectations. I let them know their improvement will be less noticeable than people with looser tissue. Many people are still happy with this but some people still expect a more noticeable change when their tissue just will not allow that type of result. Unfortunately your tissue would not allow dramatic improvement.
As you are aware, you returned to see me following the first procedure expressing disappointment. I acknowledged your concern and then performed a free revision procedure for you. During both of your procedures I did tighten your tissue as much as was possible and I do feel that both your procedures were performed as well as could be done.
Having performed over 1000 face lifting procedures, I can say that the vast majority of patients are satisfied with their results.

The whole team are just so friendly and welcoming.
I have just had a lift and augmentation 10 days ago.
I couldn't be any more happier .
I fed 4 children for a total of 8 years, and am 61 , so was not even expecting this to ever happen.
When I look in the mirror now, I feel like a whole woman.
Dr Szalay was very direct and professional at our first meeting before the op. Before surgery he came and marked me up with the same mannerisms . I did not take offence to his direct mannerisms , as I saw it as a Dr who takes pride in his work, and ensures that every t is crossed, and every I is dotted . He is a perfectionist .
I have had 2 post op appointments and he has been very kind and warm towards me.
Brooke and Shannon are also very helpful and answered all my many emails with heaps of questions.
The nurse who changed my dressings is also very lovely. Her name escapes me, I'm sorry.

It is 12 months since Dr Szalay performed gynecomastia surgery to remove my embarrassing ‘man breasts’ problem.
I am ecstatic, and have been since day one. Several times a day I notice my flat chest when I walk past mirrors- and admit I lift my shirt up often to look. I avoided mirrors before the surgery as my man boobs were always on my mind. To say I was self-conscious for years is an understatement.
Dr Szalay’s staff are friendly, organised and professional - as he is.
From the first consultation to the surgery and afterwards Dr Szalay gave me useful, professional and reassuring advice. I was quite nervous about the whole process but his manner put me at ease. He very much impressed me and my wife, who has had varying experiences with over 25 surgeries and many surgeons.
As an example of his knowledge and expertise Dr Szalay called me the night before the surgery to again discuss my preparation, his surgical options and to get my input into the options.
As an example of his empathy and professionalism Dr Szalay calmly eased my anxiety about the proper wearing of my compression garment and even took a call from me in the evening a couple of weeks after the surgery when again I had a silly question.
I am so happy I went to Dr Szalay to fix my ‘man breasts’ problem and recommend him to any man thinking of having this procedure. I’m so happy and more confident now.

I had a breast augmentation with Dr Szalay yesterday. I am incredibly happy with the entire process. I had some issues with my medications making painkillers harder to manage but he listened and organised a fabulous anaesthetist who worked hard to look after me. The two consultations I had were thorough and he answered honestly about everything. He didn’t try to over sell or give me unrealistic hopes, but I ended up with exactly what I wanted considering what is possible at my age and anatomy. Much better than expected so far. Everything was professional, if a bit abrupt, but the nurses and receptionists were all lovely. Thank you Dr Szalay and team. I highly recommend if you’re looking for an honest, skilled surgeon.

I had eyelid surgery and a browlift with Dr Szalay in April 2021 and I could not be happier with the result. There is a remarkable difference in my eyes since the procedure. Many people at work (who did not know I had the procedure done) have commented on how fresh/younger I look. Dr Szalay is amazing at what he does and I really like his no nonsense approach. He will not tell you what you want to hear, he will give it to you straight, and you can't ask for more than that from someone who is operating on your face. His staff are also amazing. Thank you x

I went in for a consultation with Dr Michael Szalay about November last year, interested in reducing my double chin, either via liposuction or lipodissolve injections. He refused me, claiming that "you have quite a lot of flesh there, and that's just how it is". Just thought I'd report the fact that I have since received a single lipodissolve injection through another cosmetics company and the results are absolutely terrific. My double chin has completely vanished, I look younger and feel great.
So in short, I am rather disappointed with how I was treated at this practice and felt that the doctor's opinion was somewhat uninformed and prejudicial.

Thank you for your comment. I do see quite a lot of people who come to me about their double chin problem. Some are good candidates for liposuction as they have significant fat deposits. Liposuction of the neck can also be an excellent technique when performed in combination with another procedure such as a neck lift or chin implant. Other people may be borderline candidates as they have less fat. These people might obtain a good result but there is a chance they may not see the result they are hoping for. Generally I am less willing to take on these patients as I prefer to avoid the chance that a person is out of pocket and has not had their expectations met. Typically if I advise a patient that I am reluctant to perform their procedure I will not charge them for the consultation and will suggest to them that they may wish to obtain a second opinion.
Finally I should point out that I do not perform lipodissolve injections and I would have made you aware that I was unable to comment on that procedure.

I had breast implants with Dr Szalay 10 days ago and I went in with realistic expectations which have been far exceeded. The pain following the procedure was minimal and post op instructions are comprehensive. As others have mentioned, Dr Szalay's personality is very clinical which I expected from a busy surgeon. I am already so happy with my results and I know they will continue to get better with time. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Szalay and his staff.

I would never recommend Dr Szalay for a browlift. I underwent this procedure with him in the second half of last year and came out with exactly the same result as when I went in. I essentially paid a huge sum of money and endured a very painful surgery for nothing. My brows looked as though they were improved about 4 weeks after the operation (which is when photos were taken) however once the swelling died down I found my brows had not been lifted at all (something which I can offer photographic evidence of). Dr Szalay offered to redo the procedure after my feedback, however how could I trust him to do a sufficient job the second time around. His excuse was that my brows "only lifted so much", which I would have been happy with if they were lift at all.

Some brows can be tighter than others and this can result in them descending sooner than others. When I saw you 4 weeks following your procedure the photos demonstrated that your brows were clearly higher than they were prior to your procedure. You indicated that you would like your brows to be even higher so I offered you a free revision procedure. Unfortunately you did not return for this procedure.
Occasionally a second procedure is required with cosmetic surgery in order to achieve an optimal result. Patients are advised this in writing prior to their initial surgery.
Revision surgery is typically successful. Most patients view a free revision procedure as a genuine way to address their concerns and are willing to accept such an offer.

Just had 3 procedures with Dr Szalay and I would not hesitate to go back, my Bleph results are nothing short of amazing. The staff are all lovely and do the best they can to keep everyone happy. People on here need to realise a good Doctor is always a busy doctor and not every day can run perfect, that is not reality!!!! No hesitation in recommending this man.
