Explained knee physiology and what was happening to me. Very honest about treatment- none except surgery. Understanding of hesitancy I have.

Dr. Dillion is a professional, skilled, pragmatic, caring, and honest individual. He's been helping me cope with two very difficult knees over the past 2 years. Nothing has been straightforward with either knee. He's been there from the start, and hasn't bailed out on me when problems have occurred. The problems I have had are the result of an autoimmune condition I have, and is no way a reflection on his skill as a surgeon. It would have been easier for him to bail out and say he can't help me any further, but he has not! Even during the pandemic, he makes sure to keep in contact. He came to see how I was doing every day while I was in hospital recovering from a revision he had just completed on me. He was the only doctor I saw visiting their patients while I was on the ward. He has personally called me at home to check in when I developed a knee infection. He's a truly dedicated decent guy, whose in "for the long haul" helping me where he can. He's direct and straightforward, doesn't BS about what he can do for you. I believe he is the reason I will be able to ride my bike again on long hauls, which is something I love to do and haven't been able to for the past many years. His office support is excellent (Mary and Cathy), they always return calls and respond quickly to emails. They are extremely professional and caring, helping where they can. It's my opinion that Fort Whyte Orthopedics are the absolute very BEST there is in Winnipeg. We are very lucky to have them here in Manitoba. Dr. Dillion is worth waiting for when deciding who to get to do your knee replacement(s). I feel very fortunate to have the best ortho surgeon who "has it all" helping me with my knees.

I had suffered for a quite a few years with knee issues until I was luckily referred to Dr. Dillon. I was super impressed with Dr. Dillon’s calm, reassuring manner at our first appointment. I had my knee replacement in October 2019. He came up to check on me a couple hours after I was back on the ward and popped in to see how I was doing everyday while I was in the hospital. He was very upfront that the first 2-3 weeks would be worse than before surgery but would then start to get better everyday after that. I am now cane free and only 8 weeks post surgery. I didn’t think I would be cane free so quickly, I no longer lose my balance and finally don’t feel like I am going to fall over. The next step is to keep working at increasing movement so the limp will go away. Dr. Dillon is very personable and makes you feel confident. I highly recommend him. If I ever need the other knee replaced, Dr. Dillon is the one.

I had my knee replaced 9 days ago, Dr.Dilllon came to see me post OP and made sure I was comfortable and his bedside manner is second to none. And this man has a sense of humor too. I highly recommend him and if I need my other knee done he is the one I will go to. I was really nervous about the surgery and his staff reassured me all would be fine. I'm up and recovering slowly and following his instructions. Thank you to all who made this happen 30+ years with this injury and now to have a normal life is a dream come true.

For me, the early recuperation phase after total knee replacement was very painful! Once I began the rehab exercises, I found that my knee did not respond nearly as quickly as others in attaining the desired flexibility. I was the opposite of an ideal patient. But I kept at the exercises, and within a few months the joint was much more flexible and mostly painless. (Do those exercises!) Still, it was two years before my slight limp was totally gone. Now it's just over 5 years since my knee replacement. I'm now 66 and retired. I work out daily. I golf and go bicycling in the summer and walk for miles every day in the winter. My balance is great! The worst problem my knee ever has now is that it sometimes "clicks" a bit. (Big deal, I have mobility back!) Dr Dillon is an excellent surgeon, and also a nice guy! He even came with his daughter to visit me in the hospital on his day off! THANK-YOU DR. DILLON.

Very personable and caring staff including Dr Dillon. Everyone made me smile and at ease while going through the recovery period. I truly appreciated the time spent explaining what injuries I had incurred and the surgery required. I would definitely recommend this Doctor and the staff!
