First Dr. Wheeler's nurse Karen is amazing but i feel terrible knowing she has to deal with someone who is insensitive and a prejudice doctor, especially with her being African American . She has always made me feel comfortable and made up for Dr. Wheelers terrible attitude and bedside manner. I have been a patient of Dr. Wheelers for 4 years now and i will not ever again. Off and on for the past 2 months i have been working with him to complete paperwork for an accommodation claim with my job. Per this last visit i asked him to make corrections as requested by job he flipped. He yelled "I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS SH!T! Ive completed many of these and if you add too much you're gonna get denied." Mind you i had a friend with me and that did not halt or cause him to second guess his response, causing me to feel as if he was entitled or comfortable speaking this way with a patient. I have often felt rushed during our appointments and Dr. Wheeler is not one for much listening but Karen is awesome and kept me coming back. I can not and WILL NOT allow such injustice. DO NOT GO TO DR.WHEELER!!! HE IS THE WORST.

I saw Dr. Wheeler for about a year. The first appointment was good but after that he was awful. The worst doctor ever. Doesn't believe in fibromyalgia.

This doctor literally saved my life. He will go way out of his way to find out what the problem is and to solve it.

I was referred to this doctor by my primary care doctor. OH he was nice and attentive at first I thought this is the guy that will find out why I am having severe pains in my legs and feet. Well after that I saw him a few more times and refuse to go back. He rushed in and out and only wanted to prescribe steriods for the pain. He up front told me he didnt know what was wrong and told me to come back in 6 weeks !!! I was so disappointed and angry he just bruised me off. Nice at first then it was down hill from then.

I have a very complicated case also. My first visit he spent lots of time with me. He did look through several records I brought & I was impressed that he did dictate on them all. So he does take time to look into your health. My second visit I was excited to see If he could figure me out. He did try, but I have some really odd problems and was unable to give me a diagnosis, but I have had my symtoms for 15 years and no one else can either. My only complaint, is this visit was rushed, I didn't get to ask all the questions I had as It seemed he was rushing out the door. I will go back, but I think this time with a list I can hand to him and then he will have to take time to look at it. I'm sure he is over scheduled. I will give him several more visits to determine if his care for his patients is genuine.

Seem him for a first visit a few days ago..I have a complicated case. The initial visit was good. He seems very dedicated to his work, I didn't just feel like another case. He took time with me. I will post after future visits. For a first visit I would give him a 10/10 as far as knowledge, communication, listening, care, determination to find whats causing my heath issues..

Dr.Wheeler diagnosed me with RA and fibromyalgia in 1995 when most MD's had no clue. He has always been on top of my care and very attentive to my labs and medication. His nurse has always called back the same day.His visits are sometimes rushed due to the number of patients that he has scheduled[ there is a severe shortage of rheumatologists] His office staff has created some billing problems. He does not have the best bedside manner; however, he has given me excellent care

I'm shocked at the positive reviews here, especially by Fibromyalgia patient. The initial consul was VERY thorough. I had hope for my continued treatment with Dr. Wheeler after that. That changed quickly when I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. This is no lie: On my last visit, he told me that he doesn't like seeing fibro patients because they usually require too much "time and attention" that he doesn't want to spend. He also insinuated heavily that he doesn't "buy in" to the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia in medicine. I went to him about 4 times in 1.5 years. After the initial consult, I was lucky if he stayed in the room 60 seconds (I actually timed it). His nurse was HORRIBLE at returning phone calls if you need to schedule a work-in appt. One time, I was REALLY sick and needed quick medical attention, and the nurse wouldn't return my call for 2 weeks. Appointments are usually scheduled months out if you need help.

I just left his office a few hours ago. I've been seeing Dr. Wheeler for almost a year. He is very knowledgeable about fibromyalgia. One of the better informed in Nashville about the subject. He is very caring and listens to all I have to say. His staff is very efficient and friendly.

Very intelligent doctor. does his research on new patients medical history before he sees them if possible. Wonderful results. has always been honest about my condition and promised to do everything he can to help me. he has thus far kept his promise and is great about everything. He's never made me feel like he doesn't care or didn't have the time for me.
