Dr. Byrd is a fantastic doctor! He genuinely cares about helping you. He listens to you and takes you seriously. For the people reading this with an auto-immune disease, you know how hard it is to find a doctor like that. It took me three tries to get a good rheumatologist.
I have been Dr. Byrd's patient since 2010. (That or 2011.) He has been wonderful.

Dr Byrd is just wonderful. He listens then makes recommendations afterwards. I always feel he has my personal best interests in mind. Always answers emails promptly. Works to explore all possibilities with regard to proper diagnosis and treatment. One of the best n i do not say that lightly as i am a retired RN.

I now know that Dr. Byrd is the best doctor I have ever had and I’ve seen many. Wish I could move back to benefit from his remarkable care. His partner treated my mother-in-law and he was amazing as well. You’re in the best of hands.

Dr. Byrd has been my physician for almost 10 years. He is a well educated, caring and knowledgeable doctor. Doctors like this are very hard to come by in this new era of healthcare. I am willing to put up with wait times or an occasional re-schedule of appointments in order to continue on with his practice. He probably does see more than his share of patients each day, but he CARES about his patients and works hard to make sure that they get a diagnosis and treatment. He has been very helpful with my condition as well as my husband's condition. He's one of the best around and I'll be in a world of hurt when he eventually retires.

I have been to see Dr. Byrd one time. Getting the appointment took a very long time. Dr. Byrd was excellent. He took a lot of time with me and went over lab results from other doctors ordered more and was able to dagnose two conditions, He prescribed a medication which I had a reaction to, a red itchy rash over torso and arms for a week after stopping medication. I have tried for three days 4 phone calls to have his nurse call me back . I have had no response. This is very frustrating.

I have been to Dr byrd for 8 years. Yes they do have a huge turn over in staff, when i started i loved the staff. It has changed, i never really had a problem with Ebony, she had a lot on her plate. As of April 2017 she isn't there, for those that are thinking about leaving due to her. I think Dr Byrd is the most kind and considerate Dr in his field that I have ever met. I would recommend him to anyone needing a rheumotogist.

I have been a patient of Dr Byrd for 16 years. I started with him when he was at Vanderbilt and went with him when he left there. Dr Byrd is the best doctor I have ever had and really cares about his patients and knows what he is doing. I changed doctors on Friday. You may be asking why....it is because of his staff. His nurse, Ebony, is a nightmare. She is mean, never returns calls and does does not want to do her job. I actually had to call another doctor's office for help. After his nurse called Dr Byrd's office to see what was going on, Ebony finally called me back. I still don't have my medicine, though. I have complained to the office manager with no luck. Ebony seems to run the office. Also, you can't get a human on the phone when you call. You always have to leave a message and don't get called back. This does not happen at other offices. I know the staff is busy because Ebony told my sister that Dr Byrd is seeing 35 patients a day (which is way too many). I hate leaving Dr Byrd but i don't have any choice. I have had 3 appointments canceled and do not have my medicine approval because Ebony wont do her job. I will miss Dr Byrd but will not miss his staff.

I am very much considering changing doctors because of his nurse, Ebony. She is extremely rude when you speak with her on the phone. She has yelled at me on more than one occasion when I have given her no cause to do so. I am always calm and polite, while she is either yelling or rude. I dread every time I have to call in a prescription and literally pray I will get her voicemail and nothing will go wrong with the prescription so I don't have to talk to her.

I love Dr. Byrd. He worked to find out what was wrong and he is a great Dr. I have NEVER had any trouble with ANY of his staff. My meds are called when I need them usually the same day one time it was the next day. Dr. Byrd has just called me to check on me at some point. Ebony has a shell and I agree hard to get to know but once you do she is a sweet heart and I feel I can call Mary with any question.
