Had to comment on the negative comments from previous people: Dr Derosa does care about making money (who doesn't?) I have heard he is doing some big dollar morally questionable procedures that personally disappoint me, but that is his business. The only way it has affected me is that it leaves less time for him to help me with issues now that I am menopausal. As to date night with his wife, I think that any husband who schedules date night is going to be better at his job and since his job calls for a full career of delivering babies at all hours of the night/day, he deserves to take time to keep his marriage (to a very lovely woman) healthy with "date night". Positives: nurse, Shelley is the best thing that has happened to his practice over the 20+ years I have known him. I do believe he is a patient advocate and cares about doing the best job he can. You do have to ask him questions and collaborate (not expect him to just educate you based on your stage in life) to get best care.

I have been seeing Dr. Derosa for about 3 years now. I initially went to him for infertility but didn't need those services. I understand why other reviews write he is "cocky"- he is very confident and my husband likes that about him. I had my daughter with him but my doula did most of the work. He did a good job with the after care and he respects my requests. He hasn't diagnosed anything wrong so far b/c when i went to get a second opinion on ovarian pain, the other dr. said the same thing. I like him but I'm not crazy about him. I am crazy about his nurse Shelly! She is why i stay. I would prefer a female dr. but for now he is who I go to. About Shelly his nurse, she will bend over backwards for the pt. The nurse is just as important as having a good dr. b/c everything goes through them. Overall, I like Derosa and he is very sensitive to Jewish law regarding the ob/gy area.

Please DO NOT go to see Dr. DeRosa. He is horrible. All he wants is your money. That is it. He spent with me less than 3 minutes and requested $200. I think he just robbed me. DO NOT GO THERE. WHOLE EXPERIENCE WAS SO HORRIBLE

I have several OBs, my two regular, by office association, and I've been seeing DeRosa as he is the OB assisting in our infertility. Frankly, I have to remind him of the details here and there but I feel it makes our interaction more collaborative rather than him reading my file and just saying one thing or another. He is busy and I've waited 10-30 here and there for my "last minute" appts. but I've also always gotten in. I had an early miscarriage and he called me right away to personally discuss, I've been in his office 3 times since with little or no announcement and the staff have fit me in and he spend 20 minutes just speaking with me and my husband, exceeding any expectations we had of our visit. I'm starting to feel like the service is better here than my other office where I actually have two doctors! There I feel like I'm on the constant 35 day wait list, at DeRosa's I feel like I have a backstage pass. None of these docs are perfect but Shelly and DeRosa's system is working.

I hesitated to be critical of a physician, but both my friend and I had the same poor experience with Dr. Derosa. I found that if I asked more than one or two questions, his tone became condescending. Also, he was unprepared for our meetings during my pregnancy. He once asked me how I got the scars on my abdomen. It was from a surgery I had with him only a few months prior. When it was finally time for delivery, he stopped in the delivery room to tell me he wouldn't be able to stay because it was "date night." So I delivered my first child with a doctor I'd never met. During a meeting in his office, I noticed that one of the two books on his desk was,"A Physicians Guide to the Five Minute Consult." Each meeting I hoped would go better, and I stuck it out with him because I believed he was a good surgeon if something serious happened during delivery, but then I nevered got the benefit of that since it was date night. I have a new OB/GYN I am very happy with-what a difference!

I would recommend Dr. D to anyone. He helped me through my infertility, two miscarriages, and the C-sect of my identical twins. He has an amazing bedside manner. I feel so grateful to him and Shelly for taking such good care of me. They are an unbeatable team.

Michael DeRosa is the best doctor I have ever had. He not only delivered my twins he helped me get pregnant with them. He has performed two surgeries on me not including my c-section. His bedside manner is fantastic. He is not arrogant, maybe a little cocky but I liked his we will make this work attitude while I was trying to get pregnant. As others have said his nurse Shelly is awesome. I wish I could see them for everything.
